Each year I try to house my beats somewhere so they don't sit in the no-mans-land of my iPad. It's just a handful of dirty loops that I think sound pretty hard, but I never fully arranged them into something more. Link is in the bio if you wanna take a listen. I try not to get nit-picky with my own shit. I feel, I play, I get curious, I explore, and I make something. That's it. 🥁
B e n d i n g L i g h t Pt . 2 | More intentions and affirmations for artists during tough times. I remind myself everyday of why I make, create, and design things. These affirmations help me stay grounded.
B e n d i n g L i g h t Pt . 1 | This is a work in progress that I've been piecing together for a while. Unfinished and in it's bare bones, but still worth sharing even in it's imperfections. My earlier post about this seemed to resonate, so I'm sharing a little more of it. Personally, I need a book of medicine, prayers, affirmations (whatever you want to define this as) to help me get through being a designer and a working artist in times of crisis. Feel free to find something in this for yourself. Feel free to leave a comment if you wanna contribute to this.
I'm writing a lot more than designing t-shirts these days. I'm collecting and organizing thoughts to help myself stay the course. I'm hoping to build these intentions into a collaborative project because I wanna know what art making is for other people who share these values. A lot of work just stays in my InDesign files. Some stuff is finished, some unfinished, some stuff needs time to incubate and some stuff requires more money than I have to produce. For now, I'll share this to plant a seed. 🌱
Photobooths, friends, a tequila shot with a beer, tums, deep love, precise rage, joy in the little things, jazz and soup, tenderness. All the things..."Be safe, but stay dangerous." – @greensgreenery
