Moonhorn is up and running
@hotelmariakapel , and here are some installation images during the day. 🌓🌗
.
My installation Moonhorn takes as its starting point the archeological artefact Mondorn, or moonhorn in English. Moonhorns are a mystery in archaeology. They are undefinable objects, dating back around 1300–600 BCE, and have been found throughout the North Alpine region. More than seven hundred have been found in Switzerland alone - too many to discard their existence as a mere coincidence. Somehow, we have lost the ability to read these objects, leaving them hanging mid-air, restless, unresolved, pending. They leave us wondering what might be, could be, pondering the possibilities embraced by uncertainty.
.
The audio for the installation was made in collaboration with
@facesound and the CAMRAS team at the radio telescope Dwingeloo.
.
The exhibition is open Thursday - Saturday, 1pm - 5pm, until December 13th 2025
