Coming in hot! 🥵🥵
It’s our first time in Australia 🇦🇺 for the Melbourne Art Book Fair at the National Gallery of Victoria (@ngvmelbourne ), Melbourne.
Save the date: Friday, 15 – Sunday, 17 May 2026
Melbourne Art Book Fair is presented as part of Melbourne Design Week, an initiative of the Victorian Government.
The annual Stallholder Fair 📚 (15–17 May) 📚transforms the NGV’s Great Hall into a marketplace of art books, publishing and design. Featuring stalls by local, national and international publishers, with this year’s highlights including the outstanding work of imprints from East and South-east Asia (👀👀), and the Latin America diaspora in Australia.
📓The wider program runs from 14–24 May. Across 11 days, the fair will activate venues throughout Melbourne with book launches, talks, exhibitions, and workshops.
⭐️⭐️See you soon!⭐️⭐️

The vibrant Otabi Festival is currently taking place in Komatsu City, Japan. Borrowing the words of our friend Ken from @va_le_ur.xyz :
“The symbol of this festival is the magnificent moving stage called ‘Hikiyama,’ adorned with lacquer, gold leaf, and intricate carvings. On these Hikiyama, local children proudly perform ‘Children’s Kabuki,’ playing a central role in the festival and contributing to the continuation and development of this traditional art form.”
As attached in the last slides are several photos Junji-san from @cyrospace shared with us during our discussions last year, before the publication was conceived. Many people asked us, “Why make this? It’s not even your culture,” they said. We answered: why not?
We see “continuation” as inherently a form of “resistance” — to persist. To be able to celebrate can also be considered a form of resistance: a preservation of the self, especially with everything happening in the world right now.
To celebrate something, to enjoy yourself, to sing, drink, and laugh, is perhaps the simplest way to resist the world as it becomes.
With this celebration, we hope everyone in Komatsu enjoys the festival to the fullest. Sing! Drink! Laugh!
We cannot express enough gratitude for being invited into this project and for the chance to witness another side of Japan, especially through the many beautiful individuals we encountered along the way.
BOOKFAIR REPORT — Tokyo Art Book Fair 2025 🇯🇵
We’re sharing a few moments from our time at Tokyo Art Book Fair 2025, which we attended during the fair’s first week. We arrived in Tokyo directly after Bangkok Art Book Fair, with only a week in between, continuing the same route of fairs and events.
Beyond the fair, our days in Tokyo moved across many places—reuniting with old friends, meeting new ones, attending the Hand Saw Press Christmas party at Hoipoi, and visiting exhibitions by friends across the city, extending the trip beyond the fair.
After Tokyo, we traveled to Kanazawa for a small pop-up exhibition and workshop at Ishibiki Public. During our time there, we met with the people behind the Otabi Festival and exchanged views on the Course Kit, gathering considered and positive impressions shaped by the project’s clear and deliberate development. A short visit to Komatsu followed, where we met friends of friends and began early conversations toward future collaborations.
This marked our first time traveling beyond Tokyo in Japan, and it became one of the most memorable chapters of our tour last year. Thank you to everyone who welcomed us, shared time, and crossed paths with us along the way.
BOOKFAIR REPORT — Bangkok · Kuala Lumpur · Jakarta 🇹🇭🇲🇾🇮🇩
After taking a moment to recharge, we’re sharing a few highlights from our time at Bangkok Art Book Fair, KL Art Book Fair, and Press Print Party Jakarta—three important stops from our book fair journey last year.
Across these fairs, we met old friends and new ones, found publications that caught our attention, and had conversations that felt easy and honest. Some happened quickly at the table, others carried on beyond the fair.
Thank you to everyone who welcomed us, shared time, and crossed paths with us along the way. Even if not everyone is pictured here, every encounter shaped the journey.
Riyadh was an important stop in our book fair journey last year as we took part in Paperback Art Book Fair 2025. Joining the fair at this moment of the city’s cultural scene gave us new perspectives, solid conversations, and unexpected opportunities. We met new audiences, exchanged ideas, and spent time connecting throughout the fair, along with good food and long days on the floor.
What stood out for us was meeting the audience and sharing time and conversations with all of you throughout the fair. Thank you for the interest, questions, and great experience around independent publishing. We’re grateful for the invitation and for everyone who welcomed us, and glad to have crossed paths within a scene that continues to grow.
BOOKFAIR REPORT — Singapore Art Book Fair 2025 🇸🇬
After taking some time to rest, we’re excited to share a few moments from our time at Singapore Art Book Fair 2025. This was one stop from our book fair tour last year, with more from the rest of the journey to follow.
It was a pleasure to meet inspiring people, discover thoughtful publications, and connect within such an energetic and generous community. We’re grateful for the conversations, collaborations, and friendships formed, and we hope to reconnect again next year.
Our sincere appreciation goes to everyone who contributed, supported, and crossed paths with us during the fair. Even if not everyone is mentioned here, your presence and generosity meant a great deal to us.
