Show prep continues. Iterating on the Heat Relief rig by adding a keyboard that is too small and endlessly hemming and hawing over every note choice.

New music for modular synth for a show on April 23rd at MKE Ultra with Dryhouse Ruins and Toby Summerfield.
Work is kind of a lot, so I don’t anticipate many chances to play live this year. Come hang.
@mke_ultra
Here’s something:
I mix bands for a living. I don’t really talk about it on here, for reasons.
I mixed my last show of the year and the stats are in.
In 2025 I engineered 111 live shows, 54 radio sessions, and 4 studio projects, totaling 388 unique bands. Here they are by genre in a fancy chart.
There’s no empirical format for determining the genre of a band. Some are more obvious and easily defined than others. Try not to think too hard about it.
The dominating genres probably have more to do with the venues I work at than anything else. But maybe the Midwest is just full of these bands? I dunno.
Anyway, I’m tired.
Thanks to all of you for the positive support and preorders for the Dryhouse Ruins LP! We’re happy to announce our record release show at Acme Records @acmerecords on Friday Dec 12, with the great Nicolas Elert @f.x.nine opening. We’ll have records at the show. For those who have preordered, we’ll start shipping next week. Hope to see you there!
