The easiest new release and reissue picks of ALL TIME >>   The new Neurosis album AN UNDYING LOVE FOR A BURNING WORLD is out on vinyl today! CDs coming later this month. What an incredible return as Neurosis returns from the aether with their first new album in ten years, with the addition of Aaron Turner (ISIS, Sumac) on guitar & vocals. As some of you know, Neurosis is one of my top three bands of all time, and I think this new record is my favorite thing they’ve done since The Eye of Every Storm. Raw, atmospheric, heavy, melodic. Everything is 10/10.   We also have the new album from The Silver, LOOKING GLASS HYMNAL BLUE. This is the final new release on my metal label and it turned out wonderfully. Gothic, romantic and atmospheric metal that really pulls from a variety of sub-genres (heavily from black metal) to craft something quite unique. Clean singing inter-spliced with harsh vocals. Super melodic guitars. Highest recommendations. Featuring members of Crypt Sermon and Horrendous. With stunning artwork by Paul Romano.   For the reissue of the week OF COURSE IT’S KRAFTWERK. RADIO ACTIVITY just got the picture disc 50th anniversary reissue. One of the greatest electronic albums of all time, and with the sick imagery they used on the video screens of the recent tours. Get beeped and booped.   A good small batch of other goodies on the wall today! One of the boxes going to Oshkosh got lost by UPS so that’s very cool. As a result some of these may not be in stock at the Oshkosh location until Tuesday.     NEW Don Toliver Thirty Seconds to Mars Yungblud King Gizzard (more live, of course) Shaggy Peter Frampton Pig’s Blood (CD only, vinyl coming soon) Jack Johnson Eluvium (!!!) Doctor Bionic Claypool Lennon Delirium (CD) From Ashes to New Sofiane Pamart Suzi Quatro Ian Anderson Kevin Morby   REISSUE Sex Pistols (Bollocks Rhino HIFI version) Beach Boys Faces Humble Pie Blue Note Classic reissues (Kenny Dorham & Donald Byrd) Neighb’rhood Childr’n Toro Y Moi Aaliyah Pain (x3) Paradise Lost Curved Air

A BOATLOAD OF BOLT THROWER. Freshly imported from the UK, on color vinyl, and after a three day battle with UPS over incorrect import fee charges. Managed to keep my $300 they tried to soak me for, though. On the shelves now at both stores.

An easy coupla picks this week for new stuff & reissues! The new album from Milwaukee band World I Hate is here, TOTAL NUCLEAR ANNIHILATION on Convulse records (who released the Big Laugh EP last year). Parker made sure I heard this one today and it’s very sick, heavy hardcore… and FAST. Absolutely no messing around. One track hits 2 minutes, everything else is shorter than that. The vocalist sounds like his throat is getting torn apart. It’s great. For the reissues we have a couple records from one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE BANDS so listen up! ISIS - WAVERING RADIANT and IN THE ABSENCE OF TRUTH. The two final studio albums from one of the best bands to ever play some type of “post-metal” or “sludge” or whatever people call stuff. They’re so much more than that, though. Experimental, tons of atmosphere, some of the greatest big riffs of all time. Chances are if you know heavy music, you’re already familiar. These two are much more melodic than their earlier material, but ISIS never missed. Every record is great in its own way and it’s wonderful that stores can carry these incredible albums again. Thanks Ipecac records! Tons of other new and reissued jams on the wall this week! I have a huge to do list so we’re keeping it simple: NEW Claypool Lennon Delirium (LP only, CD is out on 5/15) Social Distortion Darkthrone Frozen Soul Aldous Harding Broken Social Scene Laibach Sepultura (final EP?) Lykke Li Stephen Sanchez Wired Sports Swervedriver Flatliners Cortis Linda Perry They Might Be Giants REISSUE WEEN color vinyl reissues! (Quebec, White Pepper) Dead Milkmen - BIG LIZARD (RSD essential! Red vinyl!) Sword (Age of Winters) In This Moment (Greatest Hits, The Dream) The Orb Electric Six Stan Gets & Oscar Peterson Trio (Verve reissue) His Name Is Alive x3 Grandaddy Camera Obscura Jesse Welles x3 St. Vincent - Self-titled 10th anniversary Kenny Wayne Shepherd - Ledbetter Heights 30th anniversary sessions Face to Face LIVE

DELTRON 3030. Self titled debut. 25th anniversary edition on sick splatter vinyl. These were originally released for Black Friday 2025, but we got an email last week that there was more stock available so we grabbed a boatload. DELTRON is Del the Funky Homosapien (who some of you would have discovered by his numerous appearances on GORILLAZ songs, including “Clint Eastwood”), producer Dan the Automator, and DJ Kid Koala. A legendary collaboration of artists and one of the greatest rap albums of all time. This is essential listening. Heavily in stock at both stores.

Last week I noticed there were a ton of Takanaka import CDs in stock at the distributors so we went nuts on stocked up. The LP represses keep getting shorted heavily so we figured we’ll have these as backups, especially since the price is much lower than the vinyl. We are closed now until Tuesday at 11 but you can always snag these on our website as well. Both stores are stocked up.

MAY AT LAST. It’s my birthday later this month so you gotta buy a bunch of records from the shops. I don’t make the rules, that’s just how it works. There’s tons of great stuff on the new release shelf this week but we’re going to keep ADAM’S PICKS simple! The new album from American Football, LP4, is out now on CD and vinyl. What an exceptional evolution for these guys. Dreamy indie shoegazey pop. Highly recommended. Dio HOLY DIVER is reissued now as part of the Rhino Reserve series so you KNOW that’s gotta be our pick for reissue of the week. One of the greatest metal albums of all time from one of the greatest vocalists of all time. You can’t miss with Holy Diver. Rhino Reserve pressings are typically (always? I can’t remember anything) cut from the original tapes, and that’s the case with this one for sure. Sick. Tons more DIO reissues this week, too. More NEW ALBUMS out this weekend The Black Keys Kacey Musgraves Venom Kneecap Toadies Crobot Melanie C (Sporty Spice) Modern Woman Godsmack (Live) Mclusky (Billie Eilish Live 3xLPs will be here next week Tuesday) REISSUES Dexter Gordon & McCoy Tyner Blue Note Tone Poet Reissues In This Moment reissues of the first 3 records on color vinyl Dio Dio Dio Dio Dio Dio IN FLAMES - JESTER RACE (w/bonus 10-inch disc) Funkadelic (Free Your Mind!!) Monster Magnet (x3) The Head & The Heart Rodrigo y Gabriela self-titled on color vinyl Black Dahlia Murder - Verminous Buena Vista Social Club (comp)

Today we have the second to last STAFF PICKS for 2025, so it’s fitting we wrap it up with one of our most recent staff additions, Aedon at the Oshkosh store. He helps out with a bunch of used vinyl pricing in Oshkosh and was a huge help getting everything priced up for both stores for RSD. Aedon’s picks are titles that were in heavy rotation or discovered throughout 2025 and he’s got some good ones. Steve Hiett - Down on the Road by the Beach (definitely check this one out, cool stuff Aedon turned us all onto, dreamy instrumental guitar) Talk Talk - Laughing Stalk Mac DeMarco - Guitar Photo by @dave_burke_portraits

Wow Wow Wow. This is a hefty new release week and we are here for it.   Adam’s picks are plentiful this week, tons of new jams FOR ME.   portrayal of guilt - BEGINNING OF THE END. The Texas band return with another entry in their sonically expansive discography. Despite their foundational sound, this new record is almost entirely devoid of the fast screamo/hardcore sound, and leans heavily into nasty mid-tempo hardcore with an industrial influence, but there’s still plenty of sick fast parts sprinkled in throughout. Highly recommended for folks that like oppressive, dark, heavy stuff.   At the Gates - THE GHOST OF A FUTURE DEAD. The masters of Swedish melodic death metal return with their final album, released after the passing of legendary vocalist Tomas Lindberg, who recorded all of the vocals in a single day before going into surgery. Any fast metal band in North America after the mid-90s owes some kind of debt to At the Gates, without a doubt. A eulogy to their entire legacy and immeasurable influence, filled with the classic ATG style.   Failure - LOCATION LOST. We gotta give it up to the guys in Failure for giving us another solid record that still has elements of their iconic space rock / alt style in there after all these years. Ken Andrews voice sounds as good as ever and the record is full of catchy melodic riffs.   OKAY ANOTHER because I jammed on it late last night. The new Terror album STILL SUFFER is a great summertime hardcore record. Fast. Breakdowns. Tough as nails (as one should expect from Terror.) MOSH.   New: NOAH KAHAN FOO FIGHTERS Toby Summerfield BODIES OF WATER (experimental guitar produced by Colin Stetson) Meghan Trainor Tomora (Aurora w/Tom from the Chemical Brothers) Six Feet Under Atreyu Julia Cumming Metric Cory Wong M83 (soundtrack) Friko Jason Aldean Glen Hansard Ringo Starr Half-Life Alyx soundtrack   Reissues: Descendents ENJOY! Terry Callier LIVE Wolfmother (x2) Kenny Dorham (Blue Note Tone Poet) John Coltrane Quartet (Africa/Bass) Steve Lacy Oddisee DANZIG (x4) BLACKBRAID (x3)
