Join us tomorrow for a supportive and inclusive in-person gathering designed to help men pause, reflect, and reconnect with themselves and others.
It’s a non-judgmental space to process and engage in honest conversations with men who are committed to working on themselves. You can share experiences, offer and receive support, and build meaningful connections.
The Men’s Circle is a monthly gathering on Saturday mornings, hosted by Lau from Mentoring Advocacy Network CIC.
For more details: [email protected].
Saturday 16th May | 9 - 10.30 am | £5 suggested donation. #MensCircle #MensSupport #MaleWellbeing #MentalHealthForMen #BexleyCommunity
Did you know that this week is Mental Health Awareness Week in the UK? 🫶
The theme is ‘Take Action’, to highlight the importance of turning awareness into meaningful change. It’s a great time to explore your local area and visit places that you’ve perhaps been curious about but never been to. Getting out and about and discovering new things is a great way to boost your confidence and mental wellbeing without the pressure of commitment.
If you live in or near the Bexley Borough, there are plenty of green walks with woodlands and riverside trails that you can follow. You can capture photos along your journey, and take a minute to pause and write down what you’re feeling in the moment. It’s a simple idea, with plenty of benefits.
Of course, you can visit us at The Exchange, explore our garden, and find out about our workshops that you can get involved in if you want to try something new. Remember we have the Little Book Stop situated in the garden, near The Garden Room, so you can swap or borrow a book, and Board Games Club, as well as Crafters Club, which you can join for free on Thursdays from 6 - 8 pm.
Let us know if you’re doing something new this week. 👇

Some photos from Ruth and Elly’s last watercolour painting workshop. 🖌️
The subject was “working from dark to light”, and look how amazing the artwork turned out!
These sessions are our most popular, and it's easy to see why!

The Exchange Diaries w/c 4th May 📔
This weekend, some of our team have been over at @fabulous.fifty.seven in collaboration with @suzannejamescaterers as part of @dulwichfestival@artistsopenhse , showcasing our handmade @tex.craft.erith items made in our workshops. The setup looks absolutely beautiful. 👏🏻 If you missed it, it's on again next weekend (16th-17th).
In the Garden Room, people are loving the children's craft kits available, and enjoying a slice of cake. And it's been wonderful to see families taking part in our nature trail and exploring the garden. 🐝
Speaking of the garden, the highlight this week has without a doubt been the Echium pininana in full flower. Common name Tower of Jewels (or Guernsey Rockets, where our gardener Selina is from) these plants are generally biennial. Forming a rosette of leaves in the first year and flowering in the second before setting seed and dying. They will seed around the garden so you’ll never be without them. We have a particularly impressive one by our front steps that’s worth checking out. We also have a much less common pink variety in the back garden. It is also worth noting that the Benton Iris’ have started flowering: pictured here is a new addition ‘Benton Lorna’ on the pine slope.
How has your week been?

Would you like to join the board? 👇
We’re looking to fill six voluntary roles to help shape the future of The Exchange, grow our audience and build a more sustainable future. If you support what we do and would like to share your thoughts, we want to hear from you!
What will you be doing? 🤔
The Exchange has proven its value to the community. Our programmes, spaces and work are well-regarded. What’s less established is a predictable and sustainable financial model, as we are currently reliant on grants and project-based funding. In order to grow, we need to build stronger, longer-term income streams through both donor support and commercial income, including retail, e-commerce and partnerships. This is where you’ll come in.
⏰ Time needed: Around 5–6 hours per month + quarterly meetings.
We welcome people from Erith & Bexley, as well as those further afield with relevant experience. We’re committed to building a more inclusive Board and especially encourage applications from underrepresented backgrounds.
📩 Interested? Please email Kaila Yates (Chair): [email protected] or visit /trustee-recruitment to learn more.
Become a part of what comes next. 👏
