I tried a new technique on the Sword of Asur. I am very happy with the choice to make the blade gold. This is how I remember it described in the novel, could be wrong but I like the contrast.

I still remember hiding this hobby from my schoolmates back in the early 1990s…. (Yes I’m that old, later this year, big 5-0 😳).
I also remember buying my first pewter miniature at age 6 and trying to figure out how to paint it with Testors paints and that awful hobby brush with the white handle and the black plastic “hairs” 😳it did NOT go well, but I’ve stuck with it over the years, taking some breaks here and there…
Anyway… thank you all so much for the follows, the shares, the interactions and all the inspiration and motivation I find on here!!! 😊

Camaglar: The Hand of Glory
In life, Thalanor and Elthariel were inseparable scions of the Swordwind, known for their synchronized strikes. When a Daemonic incursion threatened the Craftworld, Elthariel gave his life to save his brother. Shattered by the silence in his mind, Thalanor chose to undergo the transition, interring his brother’s spirit stone into the ancient hull of Camaglar and taking his own place in the pilot’s trance.
Now, they walk the stars as a singular engine of destruction. Guided by Elthariel’s precision and Thalanor’s living defiance, the Hand of Glory anchors the Biel-Tan lines. From its twin heavy wraithcannons, the brothers unleash rifts of negative energy that tear through the heaviest enemy armor.

What a model… the Elf YuGiOh Gambit. The face was super fun to paint.
The jacket with body wedged inside was less of a roadblock than I thought it would be at first. I’m happy with how the yellow inside turned out even though I painted it before I painted all the armor etc.
Banners however, super frustrating. I could spend another hour or so cleaning them up to where I’d be happy but I’ve got my last 10th edition event to go play tomorrow.
The event will be 8-Man teams event in Wyoming put on by @lanenusbaum . Looking forward to seeing him and the rest of the @mastercrafted40k crew. Also amped to play alongside my boy @dzhobby_ops who will be bringing his awesome 313 Prospector Anvil.
I’m sure I will do Prince Yriel less justice on the board than I did on the hobby desk but will be fun times regardless.

The rest of this mini not so much. Man, beautiful miniature but the way it assembles and paints seems a bit rough… going to get his jacket done and then tackle the rest, in as many sub assemblies as is realistic.

Got to hang out with many other friends like @mastercrafted40k , @cbroddy12 and @_.yigg._ , love you guys! Made some new friends too, got to play some guys from out of state and also a couple from the western side of Colorado
Didn’t end up completing my goal of taking home 1st in Hobby but the Votann army by @johnyskwkr deserved the win, what a complete package! Congrats dude!! Amazing hobby showing all around.
Finally, I was SO happy my friend Cody Jiru was able to take down the event win with Drukhari. He’s a stud and totally deserved it, his biggest event win to date.

Been a bit since I’ve completed anything and posted. Mostly been playing and dealing with real world stuff
Anywho… Here is the converted Farseer made from @artel_w Starborn Ancient with Karseths head. I posted the build recently.
I rushed through this one in a couple 2 hour sessions to play him at RMO because I felt I had to have at least one new model in a list that remained unchanged from Colorado Cup.
In hindsight I really wish I’d made the choice to do the white armor like on alot of my other Artel based character builds. I was hoping he’d be a cool contrast to my other white Farseer but the black armor just doesn’t contrast with the purple helm.
Ah well, they can’t all be bangers, right @redonesgoboom ?

If I keep this up I’ll never be better than mediocre at 40K… when my original plans got cancelled today I should have taken the opportunity to get a practice game in for the event next weekend.
Instead… I spent the afternoon getting this build out of my head and ready for paint

- Speartip from the standard Farseer kit
- on a high elf halberd shaft (due to hand positioning)
Now let’s see if I can get him painted as a Farseer in time for the event
I kept his spear intentionally simple so as to not draw away from the head and the spell.
Not planning to go wild on the lenses like so many people on here have done so well. I only have a budget of a couple hours to get him painted if I want to be able to use him for this event

These are quite small, which I really enjoy. About the size of a space marines shin armor.

A little foray into Adeptus Custodes
First Custodian Guard test model
I was fortunate enough recently to win a pretty nice gift card to @gamersguildaz courtesy of @green_banner_event_co Thank You 🙇♂️
I was sitting there looking at the vast selection of Warhammer kits they have available and nothing stuck out to me… I could pick up some kits that I want parts from, but I did that after RMO last year and I still haven’t used many of the parts… (I will when I tackle Old World High Elves later this year)
Then it hit me… new Legio Custodes box was out and I really like those models for the first time, for a faction that has constantly frustrated me on the tabletop. So I thought “if you can’t beat em, join em” and promptly made my decision.
You will see me work on these as a break from Eldar. Quite fun to paint and will lend themselves really well to batch painting. Full paint recipe on the last slide.
Also, shoutout to @thewanderingprince and @handsome_horus both for color scheme inspiration

Lith-Yavan: The Ashen Harvest
