The North American premiere of Voyage of the Handala will be at 1 pm, Wednesday, April 15th at the Athena Cinema in Athens, Ohio as part of the 53rd Athens International Film + Video Festival. The film will then be screened at 12 pm, Saturday, April 25th at The Screening Room in Tucson, Arizona as part of the 34th Arizona International Film Festival. The film premiered at CineCiutat in Palma de Mallorca, Spain as part of the 14th Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival. Voyage of the Handala is a documentary film about an international group of peace activists and aid workers sailing from Europe to Gaza to raise awareness of the plight of the Palestinians and break the Israeli blockade of Gaza to deliver aid, health care and hope. The situation in Gaza is dire and getting worse by the day. We made this film to try to nudge the world in the right direction on this humanitarian crisis.

At @petits_salons answering a question from @therealchristopherhall - and I’m paraphrasing here, why do we keep making films with the rise of AI and the industry facing uncertainty?

This Monday, February 23rd at @Petits_Salons we will be celebrating @evolutionmallorcafilmfestival founder @sandraseelinglipski , and all the incredible work she’s done for the global filmmaking community by bringing it all home to Mallorca. Sandra Seeling Lipski founded Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival back in 2012 as a way to celebrate independent cinema coming out of the island. The festival quickly grew into the “Sundance of the Mediterranean,” honoring independent film from around the world with a distinctive focus on new talent and outstanding cinematography. In addition to her work with Evolution Mallorca, Sandra is the founder of @TheFestivalKey , a consulting company that empowers new filmmakers to navigate the festival circuit strategically. The company works with filmmakers at all stages of development via one-on-one consultations to form the best film festival strategy for their individual project. They also consult with burgeoning film festivals to help them strengthen their own programs and achieve their goals. On February 23rd, Sandra will be joining us in person on the magical rooftop of the @petitermitagehotel . We will be celebrating a night of short films curated by Sandra, and after the screening we will get to hear from both Sandra and the filmmakers in a Q&A. Our lineup includes: Synthesize Me @beardamen (@SXSW Premiere), A Place Between Us @mexicanfaerie , Someday It Is @carissajg (starring @jodiannebalfour ), and The Heart of Texas @gregoryjmkasunich (Winner, Goldfinch Innovation Award EMIFF 2024). Baldufa ha hecho 1 añito 🥳 y qué añito... Firmamos la constitución en Noviembre de 2024 (osea que técnicamente tenemos un año y dos meses pero se nos ha hecho bola subir este post por los nervios de contaroslo) y desde entonces no hemos parado: 🚗 Nos hemos pateado toda España siguiendo a nuestros cortos por festivales (desde Noia hasta Málaga, pasando por Barcelona), hemos viajado a mercados de cine y laboratorios (hasta al otro lado del Atlántico), hemos trabajado con clientes de todo tipo y hasta hemos conocido a Steve Buscemi! 🙂‍↔️ Y sobre todo nos lo hemos pasado bien siempre que hemos podido.
