Original sketches of the old drone on the causeway to Loop Island. Oliver Hurst would go on to paint a concept art version of the drone in oil at a later date. Even technology as ancient as this would still float in mid-air, powered indefinitely by the near perfect efficiency of the electromagnetic drives within.

The Stones are ominous, other-worldly and physically dominate Loop Island. This fast sketch gives a sense of their scale with Matargo and P in the foreground along with other children in the distance approaching with their own mechs.

Meet Matargo and P. This was the first time that I saw them together outside of my imagination. It couldn’t have been more perfect. To this day, 3 years later, this sketch of Olly’s has a special place in my heart. I knew from this moment on that Kelley, myself and Olly wouldn’t stop until Evol was published.
