The Stud, San Francisco’s oldest LGBTQ bar and a historic incubator of boundary-pushing drag, is proud to announce an open call for students to join its inaugural 2027 class of the Stud School of Drag. The 2026–2027 school year will begin in June with just 15 students selected to study the centuries-old folk art of drag under the guidance of some of the most influential drag performers in San Francisco — completely free of charge. We really queered the beach….because we were the only people on the beach. Cannot really describe how not according to plan this drag show went. But we turned it out none the less. In the cold, rain, high winds, I was eternally grateful to be joined by @travesdee @yvessaintcroissant and @carbon_bard on Pismo Beach. Thank you @queersurf and Arts in California Parks @parkscalifornia for making our lil beach drag dreams come to life! Santa Monica July 26 Half Moon Bay Aug 29, Sept 26, Oct 24 WHAT: an artsy afternoon on the beach all events include: -sunset seaside drag shows hosted by @eveswallows @muddthetwospirit @thatsomajor Queer Surf favorites + local talent -queer nature art workshops: learn to create beach magic with hands on workshops. these vary by program, more details to come! -ocean expression: catch waves with queer community! wave sliding, splashing, ocean play, floating, wading and dipping. please bring your own ocean gear + be independent in the water.
