I’m on Forbes 30 Under 30!!! From starting EuCan in the dorm room of @hkust to being selected as @forbesasia 30U30 for Media, Marketing & Advertising - thank you to all our clients, team members and friends for the incredible support. Let me share with you one of Forbes’ interview questions that I still remember so vividly. “Why would these big tech and finance giants hire your relatively smaller production house?” I replied: “Because we’re agile and able to provide more tailored, creative solutions; creating real value for our customers.” They countered: “Sure - but wouldn’t bigger agencies have more resources and manpower to create better video solutions?” I agreed: “They would - but they also have hundreds of more clients/projects going on at the same time. Their divided attention might mean they’re not innovating, afraid to take creative risks and not digging deeper into what the real pain point is.” We focus and specialise in creating videos that leave an impression, and not a yawn. That solves a real business problem, and not just for show. Anyways… I guess I really put the “can” in EuCan! Starting with zero investments, and funding the starting years of the company with countless hours of tutoring/part-time/freelancing to developing a network of partnerships with some of the biggest brands out there. Behind the scenes for our production of @channel.isaac music video - “lately”! We are so honoured to have produced our good friend’s first official MV, for a song that carries so many different meanings for creative people alike. Big thank you to everyone who made this production possible: Cam Op - @johnrazalo , for capturing every shot spot on (including the shot of the pan catching on fire!) 1st AC and Gaffer - @shaab_t , ensuring all the equipment is safely mounted and keeping our shots sharp 1st AD - @jijiyeung , making sure the production day was smooth as butter PA - @jchan_hker , for pushing/pulling the dolly a hundred times Art Director - @sasa__ter , for spending 6 hours with her team to build our incredible “Masterchef” set with functioning stoves and tap water!? Hair & Makeup - @zueyuet and @jimtsehair for keeping the cast looking slick and camera ready Cast - @teddyfanguitar @leeyatding @6yanho @leonleung @nictsui for your hilarious performances and making the set full of laughter Food - @littlebaohk , you kept our stomachs happy for the entire 15 hours. This was a collaborative effort, from conceptualising this seed of an idea to realising it into an actual video - and that, is the magic of filmmaking and what we love most. Definitely one of our favourite projects from the past year :) go watch the full MV! ________ “I grew up believing that practice makes perfect” this line from Lately reminded me of all the silly, terribly shot MVs we made years ago. From parodies to covers to this - I truly did grow up believing that, if you put enough hours into your craft and your passion, you’ll reach new heights that were previous unfathomable. This MV, to me, is one of those new heights - thanks again Isaac. - Eugene

What is it like to intern at EuCan Productions? 🤔 Meet Georgie @ge.org.iana ! She’s been interning with us for the past two Summers ☀️ While she tells you what it’s like to work with EuCan, I’ll tell you what it’s like to work with Georgie: 1. Note-Taking Extraordinaire ✏️ - on her first day in 2022, we gave her a notebook to take notes with (on how to setup lights, communicate on set and editing shortcuts, etc). By the end of her first summer internship, it was packed with information.. And even drawings on how we set up our film cart! The next summer, she came back with the same notebook, having read up on it and ready to take it even further! 2. Just Do It Mentality 🔥 - from making a ridiculous number of fake polaroids for an MV to shooting outdoors on the hottest days, she took on every challenge and kept improving. 3. Team Integration 🥇 - though just an intern, neither the team or Georgie herself looked at it as just an “internship”, in my opinion. She was part of the EuCan team, like everyone else. The joy, commitment and creative input she brought to our team is truly remarkable. I am incredibly proud of what you have accomplished over the past two summers, and for taking the leap to pursue film in university! My proudest moment was when I looked at your editing timeline on your final day - everything was super tidy; utilising every editing, coloring and audio processing technique we taught you.  It has been a pleasure having you at EuCan. Fast forward to today, and I am completely awed by how far we've come. From our humble beginnings, we've grown into a creative powerhouse, bringing stories to life through the magic of video production. We've worked with incredible clients, tackled challenging projects, and delivered results that truly make a difference. These seven years have been a whirlwind of creativity, learning, and growth. We've laughed, we've faced hurdles, and we've celebrated victories. Every moment has been an integral part of our story. At EuCan, we talk about the “can-do” spirit a lot. Today marks EuCan Production’s 6 Year Anniversary! 6 years ago, it began all as a passion and love for creating beautiful visuals and narratives which exceeds all standards - regardless of the resources available. If you can dream it, EuCan film it. Today, our goal is mostly the same - deliver only the best to our clients, regardless of scope or budget. We want to make projects we can all be proud of, with results that deliver. We’re grateful to have worked on projects with great teams across various industries - from tech to finance to education to even music. To everyone we worked with, thanks for trusting your project and creative vision with EuCan. Thank you to the EuCan team for your constant dedication and in some cases, teaching me how to be better on a creative and personal level. From learning how to manage a team, growing company culture to managing projects & client expectations - being an entrepreneur has made me into a lifelong learner in areas beyond filmmaking. Large corporate videos for the biggest brands, music videos, film festival awards and even the 2021 HKMOL Award for “Cutting-Edge Video Production Services Of The Year” - how far we’ve come indeed. This past week we had the pleasure of teaching a 4-Day Filmmaking Workshop again, for the second year in a row, with American International School and organised by @ownacademy We give the students a real hands-on experience into the world of filmmaking. Each workshop, the students make a final film - whether it be a spec ad or short scene from a movie. This year, they really blew us away with their creativity, cinematography and editing. It’s amazing how fast one can learn when given the right practical guidance. We love filmmaking, but there’s something special in teaching, in inspiring the next generation that cannot be replaced. Great thanks to the EuCan Team @3ugenechan @johnrazalo @jijiyeung @_heidy_c_ for helping facilitate the lessons and @nataliehwc for having us again. Where, who and what should we teach next?

#WFH has become such a staple term over the past few years - almost a norm for most. When brainstorming this video concept, we thought “just because WFH is a norm, doesn’t mean your experience has to be”.
