It’s been an absolute pleasure which was crowned by getting to play for Evald. In his world his mom is a singing lizard and he couldn’t ask for anything more 🥰
My Monday morning fatigue is being lit up by all the new memories I made during my visit in Stavanger last week. It was an absolute pleasure to revisit my dear Carmen and a wonderful new connection to both @symfonistavanger , conductor @andrispogaofficial and my Don José @joelprieto.ig . I felt like I kid on Christmas Eve, discovering this fantastic venue and all the people connected to it. Not to mention what a luxury it is to revisit a role after so long with loads of new life experience to bring to it. Thank you @stavangerkonserthus for making it happen! ❤️

I celebrate my birthday in the studio this year! I’m part of a wonderful project with @musikisyd where @karinrehnqvist has composed a children’s opera loosely based on a Mexican folk tale. It’s not any ordinary kids opera, this one is produced specifically with children with special needs in mind. Kids with NPFs and different handicaps which might usually prevent them from experiencing opera or stage performances. This is a subject especially close to my heart and I’m so happy to be a part of it. Today we’re making a professional recording with the aim to spread this project internationally. We’re working with amazing studio technicians at @indiscourse and get to play around all day. What a birthday! Premiere 7 February at @bastionen_scenkonst in Malmö. Double sold out Christmas concerts yesterday at Mölle Kapell with @hannexet and @markuskvint . Even though Hannes and me both were exhausted after him premiering Zauberflöte at Göteborgsoperan the night before and me basically flying straight from a week of Messiah with Aalborg symphony orchestra with a transfer in Gothenburg (and of course general family administration) we finished the week with the joy of actually getting to sing TOGETHER for once. I think it has only happened a handful of times in the 13 years we’ve been together. Thank you Mölle Kapells konsertserie and @ameliajakobsson for making that happen! First Messiah done today! And thankfully we have another one tomorrow ❤️ Today was special in many ways. Not only was it my first Messiah and my first time in the beautiful hall Musikkens Hus in Aalborg. My mom @sventelius was also in the audience we got to share this music on the one year anniversary of my dads death. A year ago today he went out to put up the Christmas lights for the last time. We’ve missed him every day since. And today I sang the aria ”He was despised” with the lyrics ”a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief”. It was a hard one to get through. But grief goes hand in hand with joy. Both exist at the same time. And grief is a universal human experience. Music like the Messiah makes that more apparent than anything else! Time becomes physical as a parent. Today I get to return to the beautiful and majestic Linköping Dome. Last time I was here was almost exactly two years ago. Back then I sang Bach’s Mass in B-minor, today I’m singing the heartbreakingly beautiful Pie Jesu from Duruflé’s Requiem. Back then I brought a four-month-old Evald and Hannes with me. Partly because I was still breastfeeding and partly because of us not baring to be without each other at that time. Just two weeks prior to coming here last time, we had gotten Evald’s diagnosis. At that time we still administered injections in his little baby thighs two times a day. We absolutely had loads of lovely moments and mischief (hence the hat…), but we also carried a massive weight of worry and grief with us wherever we went. Revisiting this church today makes me feel like I’ve lived a life since last time, but it’s only been two years. Today I know the boy waiting for me back home. An amazing little boy who brings me more joy than I could ever have imagined two years ago. A little boy who, instead of that former grief, shares in my grief of grandpa Johan. Who pats on grandpa’s grave and talks about grandpa in heaven. To whom I get to explain that missing someone and crying is not bad or sad. Missing someone is remembering all the light and the love that person brought. So. Today I will sing the words of sorrow and hope with the physical experience that life carries all types of trials. And that’s what makes life beautiful. That’s what makes us feel and develop as humans. Pie Jesu Domine, Dona eis requiem.
