I would’ve probably never come here if it weren’t for this job opportunity, and I have to say there’s something very suiting with Verdis brutal yet beautiful music in this brutally beautiful nature in the middle of the Atlantic! Thank you everyone involved for making it happen. I hope to be able to come back to this massive piece soon. And I hope life guides my path back to the Faroe Islands some time in the future.

Lied concerts is, in my opinion, the most exhausting and demanding thing to perform, but an almost sold out hall and an audience which gave such a positive energy back, made it an absolute pleasure! Even with this beast of a belly I’m dragging a sound with me atm. I will return to Konserthuset in Stockholm for the opening of their next season, in September, to perform Sven-David Sandström’s High mass with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. I’m reaching the end of a very busy and versatile season. It started in Vienna with the biggest role one can sing in my fach; Octavian, and I end in Munich with the smallest role I’ve ever sung; Page in Rigoletto. From 3 hours to 30 seconds on stage. High and low! In between I’ve had the great pleasure to sing several amazing roles like Nicklausse in Hoffmann, Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel, 2:e Dame in Die Zauberflöte and Olga in Onegin. I’ve learned so much, being a title role guest in a huge production in contrast to the every day life as a part of an amazing soloist ensemble. Both have their ups and downs and I’m so grateful to have experienced all of it! Now I’m packing up my flat here in Munich and head for new adventures, finally getting to have my base in Sweden again. I’ve met so many incredible people and made so many new friends this year and I will be forever grateful to all of you for making this year so special!

I finally got the courage to watch myself on TV on Allsång på Skansen from two weeks ago. I had such joyful and exciting experience, that I didn’t know if I wanted to potentially taint it with self scrutiny afterwards. I was prepared to be shaking with nerves and stress, walking out in front of the cameras, broadcasted to such a large audience and in such a new format for me, but I surprised myself with being able to let go of all the performance anxiety and pressure of getting it “right” and was able to just feel pure joy! The mental preparation, what you don’t see as an audience, is always my biggest challenge, and for me to get this kind of experience was a huge win! Therefor I am extra proud of posting this. Not because I sang all the notes exactly as I might have wanted, but because I felt better than I ever could have wished for doing it! Thank you @svt for giving me the opportunity to perform in front of a “new audience” and challenge myself outside of my comfort zone!
