Over the course of my career, I moved through industries such as music, entertainment to spirituality and writing about Latine perspectives. It’s been a journey and this feels full circle. I’ve written as a contributing writer and columnist for media for years, and a hard wall I am constantly met with is, “there’s never enough funding” especially to write about the stories I want to tell about our community and where we are headed. It was only organic that the next step would be for me to launch my own independent newsroom and media. Posting this because I am sure if you identify as a bruja/witch, you feel my frustration… why do Christian’s judge the most? the minute I tell someone how I identify, I get treated differently REAL quick if they haven’t educated themselves or take the time to ask me what being a witch means. A witch is someone who is AGAINST OPPRESSION, not some devil worshiping person who is going out in the world putting spells on people. This bleeds into romance as well. Most men instantly freak out when I share I identify spiritually as a bruja. Their first comment without FAIL is: “Oh! Are you gonna put some kind of love spell on me?” 🫠😩🥱👿🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ We are people first and oftentimes, the kindest, most giving, empathetic people you’ll meet.
