To feel emotionally charged by the surroundings here, to understand the privilege and the permission the nature has allowed me to take it all in, as we venture to these the remote landscapes; it resonates deeply within my soul. Iceland had long held a place in my heart, a dream awakening with its promises of rugged beauty. With my ever strengthening love for the cold, the Icelandic winter has definitely delivered the coldest/ wildest experiences I have yearned for. Merry Christmas friends📍Northpole🎅🏼🎄🦌 📸 @the_phbalance Where do I even begin, to express the journey we went through last week. Iceland felt like a journey back in time, a spiritual awakening. Iceland’s energy, epic nature and powerful experiences change people. Never have I ever felt this uniquely intrigued yet intimidated; excited and free. It is in travelling to these epic landscapes, in such dramatic weather conditions, have I found real peace and intellectual enlightenment. On this particular series; we were lucky enough to cross path with @thrainnko and arrange a hike in Reykjanes region (few miles away from the recent Volcano. 18/12/2023). He is a native Icelander Photographer who has in-depth knowledge of his homeland; we always felt safe under his leadership and guidance. Thank you @thrainnko Lastly, this trip felt very special for us boys, being our first time; putting adventure on the forefront and bringing that can do attitude; working together regardless of challenging weather. I never grew up understanding what life in Central Asia was really like. All I ever heard were vague warnings and assumptions that it wasn’t a safe place. But Samarkand and Bukhara showed me a completely different reality. Walking through these cities felt like teleporting to the heart of the Persian empire. Every monument, every tile, every corner has a story. And then there’s the blend of Soviet era architecture that gives the cities this unexpected contrast. After finishing our marathon, @zakvelsvoir and I made our way to Registan Square. We were exhausted, but the moment we arrived, the tiredness disappeared. The beauty of the mosaics, the grandeur of the place, absolutely breathtaking. Photos can’t even begin to show its true impact. Thank you @samarkandmarathon @acdfuz for letting us truly immerse into these experiences. This trip really has changed my perspective about Uzbekistan and the whole Turkic region for better. 🍃 📸 @eshankali

I still can’t believe any of this. A couple of years ago, when I’d only just begun taking running seriously, the idea of doing a marathon in Uzbekistan; let alone three in one year, would’ve sounded like a joke. Yet here I am, still in awe. Huge gratitude to @samarkandmarathon and @acdfuz for the heartfelt invitation. A dream I never even imagined became real. For a fourth-year event, the marathon was incredibly well organized. From the freezing 7 a.m. start to running past ancient monuments glowing in the sunrise, Samarkand gave me an experience I’ll never forget. Looking back, I’m so glad I chose to run—and none of this would’ve happened without my bhai @zakvelsvoir Stay tuned as we share more of our journey across Uzbekistan🇺🇿
