From classroom learning to mountain reality ❄️🏔️
At the start of April we took a group of outdoor journalists to @glenmorelodge in the Scottish Highlands to take part in the Save a Life course with the @sandstone_training team, an experience designed to prepare you for the moments you hope never come but need to be ready for.
Starting indoors with the fundamentals, we quickly took those skills out into the wild, facing rapidly changing conditions, including a surprise appearance from the snow (Scotland in April😂), to put our knowledge to the test in real-life scenarios. Because when you’re out on the hill or far from help, there’s no substitute for knowing how to act in an emergency.☔🚨
It was a powerful reminder that adventure and responsibility go hand in hand and that the right preparation can make all the difference.
A huge thank you to Tim and Mike from Sandstone for leading the event, thank you to Glenmore Lodge for accommodating everyone, and to the @brandwaveteam for helping to plan and deliver such an invaluable experience.
