Fumerolles (Frédérique Duval) will open the evening with a rich tapestry of solo electronic sounds for inner and outer landscapes. This will be followed by the collagist avant-rock improvisations of 1/4 Tonne, featuring Eric Craven on drums, Nick Kuepfer on guitar and reel to reel, and Mark Molnar on cello and electronics. The evening will culminate with the hypnotic psychedelic excursions of Some Became Hollow Tubes, featuring Eric Quach from thisquietarmy on guitar and effects and Aidan Girt from Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Exhaust on drums. There will be chocolate, colouring sheets, and giveaways. And an exciting surprise at the end... 🐣 Advance tickets available for 15$ + fees. 20$ at the door. Samedi soir, le trio encore tout jeune @tempetesolaire mettra le feu à la scène du Studio Desjardins du CEM avec son mélange éruptif de drones, d’envolées psychédéliques, de grooves et de free jazz. On y retrouve à la basse électrique, Eric Quach, mieux connu comme guitariste sous le nom de @thisquietarmy , à la batterie, le vétéran @ericcraven06 , qui officié aux peaux et aux cymbales pour de nombreux groupes montréalais sous étiquette Constellation, et au saxophone ténor, aux effets et manipulations électroniques, Elyze Venne-Deshaies, qui s’est d’abord illustrée avec son album Les grandes solitudes des femmes sauvages. Cecil Castellucci - Arts, Aging & Transformation – Concordia Fine Arts Alumni Speaker Series All Welcome For An Intergenerational Exchange! This talk is the first in a series engAGE will be putting on in the coming year to celebrate and feature Concordia Fine Arts Alumni. We are inviting artists to tell us about their work and to reflect on aging, transformation and a life in the arts. Cecil Castellucci is the Eisner nominated, Shuster award winning and New York Times bestselling author of novels and graphic novels. Titles include, Shade, the Changing Girl, Boy Proof, The Plain Janes, Soupy Leaves Home, Female Furies, Star Wars Hyperspace, Shifting Earth, Odd Duck and High Strangeness. Their short stories have been published in EC Comics Cruel Universe, Strange Horizons, Reactor.com, and other anthologies. In 2023 they were awarded a Fulbright to Denmark. They’ve written librettos for operas which incorporate comics. They are currently doing a comics anthology performance art endurance project I AM THE COMIC BOOK.
