We have ignition! Today I’m incredibly proud to announce the launch of @pacificstandardcreative (PSC).  This is my new work home, and it’s something I’ve been looking forward to pulling the curtain back on. PSC is the result of my partnership with the awe-inspiring team at @pacificstandardsound  We are a new division of the studio dedicated to delivering world-class audio for games, trailers, ads, indie films, and music.  Because every story, no matter the format or the budget, deserves to sound alive, unique, thrilling and immersive.  Teaming up with sound industry legends @craighenighan and @sounddroid has been nothing short of amazing.  Their work on Stranger Things, Deadpool & Wolverine, Alien: Romulus, Prey and The Batman speaks for itself.  And their excitement to build something new with me has been energizing.  It’s a perfect marriage of my area of expertise with some titans of our craft. With this news, I’ll be sunsetting Transported Audio & Music, a company I started with a small 5.1 rig in my second bedroom over 10 years ago.  What followed was more than 400 game trailers, credits on multiple AAA games and globally-recognized game brands, a Sports Emmy, and films that premiered at Sundance, Cannes, Tribeca, TIFF, and SXSW.  It all makes for one heck of a running start for PSC.  I could not be more proud of what our team built together, and I’m beyond grateful that every single one of them is making this jump to PSC with me. Every project deserves top-tier audio.  Our PSC team lives for pushing creative boundaries and are ready to do the best work of our careers. I feel so fortunate to be able to work with this incredible crew every day now.  We are story-forward. Cinematic. Impactful. Detail seekers. Co-Dev partners. Scaleable. And most importantly, user-friendly.   <Insert bootup sound cue>  We look forward to supporting teams of all sizes, around the globe. And can’t wait to bring you along for the ride. #gameaudio #sounddesigner #postproduction

Two years ago, I got to live out a lifelong dream of experiencing The Matrix in a movie theater all over again. But then, Supervising Sound Editor Dane Davis decided to show me just how deep the rabbit hole goes… One day, it’ll click in that this all actually happened. Honestly, it still has not. But perhaps one day. Until then…. Ignorance is bliss. Happy 27th Birthday to The Matrix! On the lookout for a fresh red pill? Check out the series of videos I shot with Dane where he broke down how he and his team created the sounds for many iconic moments in the film. Link in bio. #thematrix #wb #warnerbros #postproduction #soundesign

Ren Klyce, my forever creative north star, generously took the time to show me around the Skywalker Ranch last week. What a wondrous place - a total 180 from every office or studio lot I’ve ever visited. Nature forces a quiet tranquility here, where it feels more like a creative retreat than an office. George Lucas designed something very singular with this place, and his legacy continues to spread through the stories that are crafted here. Outside of the breathtaking scenery, it was really wonderful to meet some titans in our field who call this place home. There are too many amazing sound people to name, but thank you all for welcoming me for the day with open arms. Mac Smith, thank you for making the time to show me around as well!! I deeply appreciate you opening your doors and introducing me to some of your Skywalker team members as well. Ren, your mind bending work on David Fincher’s films introduced me to the storytelling possibilities of working in sound. Thank you for paving the way, and for being such a generous spirit to boot. I am eternally grateful. @renklyce @giganticcranium @skywalkersound #skywalkersound #skywalkerranch #renklyce

After two incredible years as the Vice President of the @motionpicturesoundeditors my term has come to a close and with it, I’ve made the decision to step down from the board of directors. It has been nothing short of a high honor and a tremendous privilege to serve our global sound community since joining the MPSE board in 2020. These six years have really flown by. Some of you may know me as a speaker or a moderator, or as someone who has worked to bring our sound community together to showcase our talent, creativity, and unique contributions to storytelling. This work has brought me a lot of joy and I’m incredibly proud of everything that we have accomplished. To those who have attended, participated, or listened along the way - thank you. In my time with the MPSE, I’ve had the opportunity to learn what leadership and effective communication looks like. This was only possible thanks to the guidance and support of President @dbarber4 our previous president @markl006 Executive Director Tracie Costabile, my amazing fellow board members, and the support of our 1200+ MPSE members from around the world. If you’re looking for more creativity or inspiration, know that our future is truly in great hands. I couldn’t be more excited to welcome our new Vice President @soularitysound Korey is an amazing person – a teacher, a connector, a visionary and an exceptionally talented sound editor. I feel lucky to call Korey a friend, and I know he’ll do an amazing job expanding upon all of our efforts in the years ahead. As for me, I’m cooking up something new and am very excited about what’s on the horizon. It’s been an incredible six years devoting time to such an important cause, but a new chapter in my career is about to begin that demands my full attention. I can’t say much yet, but I will share more when the time is right. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for all of your support. It has meant the world to me. In spite of ALL the feelings @philsound71 is going through in this picture… this is far from goodbye. Here’s to the future of sound, the stories we bring to life, and building more connections in our community far and wide!

Incredibly grateful for this recognition from our peers in the sound community! Battlefield 6 was an amazing experience for our team, and it came about thanks to deep trust with my EA LA colleagues built over the past 15 years. Jeff Wilson and Tom Hite stayed at EA and went on to become audio directors for this amazing new game. Thank you Jeff and Tom for your trust and leadership. Congratulations to all of this year’s nominees! @motionpicturesoundeditors @ea @rippleeffect @ea.motivestudio @battlefield @transportedaudio #gameaudio #gamesound

15 years ago, I walked into my first audio job at a game studio. @neelreel and David Silverman hired me as a sound designer/re-recording mixer for an internal marketing team at @ea . I worked exclusively on @bioware game trailers there for a year before moving to a different EA team to focus on in-game audio. My teammates at the time included two more future leaders in the game trailer industry, Chase Boyajian and Tanner Boyajian. They went on to launch @darkburncreative a few years later. This @dragonagegame trailer was the first project I touched at EA. Fresh out of school from @usccinema it was also my first professional sound job. Shoutout to composer Jay Vincent, who lifted this to great emotional heights. @jonjudelson joined our team later that year, but wasn’t there yet for this trailer. I learned a tremendous amount in the months and years after this project. Invaluable things like what a trailer schedule looks like, how to communicate within and across departments, how to address multiple levels of client notes, how to deliver in different loudness specs, how to build a DAW template for trailers, how to design an audio room that will translate properly, etc. These are skills that I applied not only to my work first hand, but I’ve been fortunate to be able to impart them upon teams that I’ve built and led for hundreds of other trailers and in-game work ever since. For me it all started here, and I’m eternally grateful to Neel and David for the experience. It’s nice to have a finished product like this to look back on as a career landmark. It’s a unique window into how my creative approach has evolved in the years since. Here’s to building upon our past experiences and flexing our creative muscles in the year ahead!

What a nice surprise! An @honorofkings game cinematic I was the supervising sound editor for won a @musicandsoundawards for Best Sound Design in a Game Cinematic. This project was a super fun and rewarding experience to say the least. It was great to collaborate with @tencentgames and TiMi Studio Group on this one. This cinematic definitely required a lot of outside-the-box sound design and creativity. And if you know sound people, we live for opportunities to push boundaries :-) Shoutout to my amazing sound team on this: Re-Recording Mixer @mattyocumsound Sound Designers @sully_the_guy @mattyocumsound Foley Post Apocalypse #gamecinematic #gameaudio #gamesound #sounddesigner #soundesign #postproduction #honorofkings #tencentgames #timi #musicandsoundawards
