Our conducting workshop returned this May for a focused and energising deep dive into American choral music, exploring repertoire by Barber, Copland and Whitacre 🎶
Huge thanks to our brilliant singers for their generosity and insight, and to Dan Collins, Tim Reader, and all the conductors for bringing such focus, curiosity, and musical integrity to the room 🌟
From dedicated workshop sessions to full choir performance, it was a weekend shaped by openness, precision, and real collaboration. What makes this work so valuable is the space it creates: somewhere conductors can test ideas, take risks, and refine their craft with immediate, honest feedback from a choir that listens as actively as it sings.
Still a lot to reflect on, and exactly the kind of work that stays with you. Bravo Tutti! 👏👏👏

A different kind of conducting workshop.
What happens when you step in front of a professional chamber choir, not just to practise, but to connect, explore, and be challenged?
Our Professional Conductors’ Workshop is built for those already working in the field (or close to it). Across two immersive days, you’ll do more than refine technique, you’ll engage with the inner life of conducting: presence, confidence, listening, and leadership.
🎶 Work with a world-class choir that gives honest, thoughtful feedback
🎶 Go beyond gesture into the psychology of conducting
🎶 Build real trust through time, conversation, and shared music-making
🎶 Leave with insights that stay with you long after the final session
Conducting isn’t just about what you show, it’s about what you bring.
"Receiving feedback from the choir was perhaps even more instructive. It reminded me that conducting is first and foremost for the performers’ benefit; that you are there to support and galvanise their efforts and potential." - Workshop participant
📍 1-2 May | Central London
🎼 Featuring music of 20th-century America
