Santorini in April or Shetland in January?! Picture doesn’t do justice to the grimness of the week’s weather here in the south Aegean. Highlight of the trip was the stay at Sofitel, Heathrow before the flight.

Just met the owner of Hagen - also called Tim! - who happened to be in at the same time - kudos , offered me a coffee on the house as he could see I was a bit miffed about the no-ceramics today. He set up Hagen in W London because a few years ago he had to travel to east London to get good coffee (I believe this). There’s now 25 of them! Amongst the most consistent of the small chain coffee houses around IMO.

Despite the best efforts of super-flu and a gig-laden weekend I managed to time a stay in London with my 250th parkrun where it all began - still my favourite course @hillyfieldsparkrun Great team and lovely welcome from the run director. 26 min finish time far from a record but good in view of the above!

Last month I did a thing I’m incredibly proud of – I and @epiphoni hosted a conducting workshop for conductors working in the profession, looking to develop themselves. With a little help from @simply_i.c we have written a reflection piece on the event: .uk/.../weekend-of-insight.../ A priority for me was to make it pastoral, safe, encouraging whilst also challenging and stretching. This particular quote makes my heart do a little dance: “You have cultivated the most pastoral environment imaginable. You really must have the friendliest choir on the planet… Epiphoni is so special – welcoming, supportive, inclusive, and kind.”

We were absolute blown away by Semele at Waterperry Opera earlier this week. It starred @hilarycronin8 who sang the Pie Jesu so exquisite in @epiphoni ‘s Fauré Req from memory last year - she was sublime as was all the cast. It has finished at Waterperry but you can still see it at Holland Park next week.

Don’t worry there’s no need to go anywhere else ever again for your coffee - I’ve found perfection in Fitzrovia, off Fitzroy St. You’re welcome.

I love Buns from Home but their popping up everywhere is starting to spoil the magic. Or maybe it’s their neighbours!!
