OPEN SOUND FESTIVAL 2025: MATERA DAY 2 — 20 DEC at Thyme, supported by Clay Closing the festival’s second day, we will gather at Thyme, our favorite underground cave in the heart of Matera. A pure night of dancing awaits, driven by the deep basslines, percussions and hypnotic rhythms of STRADA. Two local artists will play alongside her: Matteo from @intotherabbithole____ with some downtempo, break beat, and progressive influences and Giusss from @clay.aps , with a music selection spacing within bass, dub, IDM, and ambient. Free fall - A/V performance (10min) at @errant.sound 🔉 December, 2024 A sonic and visual exploration of free fall, created through the crafting and reproduction of manual loops using cassette tape fragments and feedback video signals projections. Audio @misunderr A contact microphone, placed on the player, amplifies the vibrations and sounds emerging from the cassette player. These raw, distorted sounds are then processed and manipulated via computer, generating a constantly evolving soundscape. The digital treatment, combined with manual and computational techniques, heightens the tension between organic material and virtuality, between stasis and dynamism. Video @davemasciandaro Analog signals generate continuos video feedback shaped in circles and circular deformations. The back and forth between black and white dialogues with the sound manipulation, like a distorted signal, giving life to the sonic world in which, circle after circle, sound, video and audience fall: the actual fall is endlessly repeated in continuous motion and vibrance.

In our era where usual life dissolves over time, what is our perception of the ordinary within the ordinary?
