May Day at SF Civic Center and Embarcadero. Had a blast carrying the banner with @gail.tarantino and @piper_ly_ . Despite challenges with the wind, we were able to keep it held high most of the afternoon and were even able to march it in market street where you can see it in one of the final photos in this group. Shout out to @davidsolnit for helping to make this happen. It was fun to talk with people who were engaged and interested in the banner, the words and how it was made. Lots of great conversations and photos. Photo credit for the lead photo and many others: Gail Tarantino. #maydaystrong #workersoverbillionaires @seiu1021 @richmondartcenter

May Day 2026 Detail from photo by Eric Castro, SF Chronicle. @piper_ly_ and @gail.tarantino you were super pole-carriers--even with the wind! It was great to spend the afternoon with you! an#enough #maydaystrong #workersoverbillionaires @seiu1021

Banner ready for Friday!! Couldn’t have happened without a lil’ help from my friends @gail.tarantino and @rozritterartist . And special shout-out to @davidsolnit for providing the everything-needed and missing pieces that I didn’t have or couldn’t figure out myself and the calm reassurance that a 12’ long banner is NOT too large to carry! See you Friday in SF! #maydaystrong video by @gail.tarantino

Wonderful day yesterday with @gail.tarantino @rozritterartist and @davidsolnit giving the hand stitched banner letters a boost for legibility. The stitching contains so many individual color, pattern and texture choices made by countless individuals. It was a great challenge to find a way to keep that spirit and we let what was there guide us until we felt it was “finished enough “ for now. It’s always a work in progress… #enough @richmondartcenter

Beginning last December, I started installing Circular Journeys at Drake Terrace in San Rafael. The pieces are from a large installation from the 1990's, some of which have found their way into private collections, including a few that belong to my friends, who moved to Drake Terrace last year. In this work, the science of archeology as a metaphor for personal and collective memory. "Circular" for lifecycles and "Journeys" for movement, growth, discovery or facing the unknown. It's been so much fun to work with my friends and meet community members in the garden as we eagerly anticipate how our tiny plants will take root and spread. And the sculpture will be "at home". This project has breathed new life into these sculptures (and to the artist who made them). I had the great pleasure of giving a short presentation about the project today at the Residents Council meeting. It was so inspiring to learn about the many ways that members are actively engaging with and building their community. Thank you for inviting me! @lifeatdraketerrace #landart #earthworks

Getting ready to take this thing out for a spin. This 12’ long Multilingual ENOUGH Protest Banner began at @richmondartcenter and has been worked on by countless hands as it continues to evolve. Deep gratitude to @davidsolnit for helping me rig it up today, for bringing it to life and making it sing. More languages are still being added. It was Ana Llorente’s brilliant idea to create all of the words in Noto font. What does ENOUGH mean to you? What does ENOUGH mean to you right now? #enough #enoughisenough #yabasta #basta @anallorentestudio @anacubana

Better photo of this piece, which was my first foray into working with the Garibaldi font from @vocaltype.co . The design takes it’s inspiration from anti-fasc*t material produced and distributed clandestinely during WWII. This piece was purchased last summer by a private collector. Hand stitched cotton and silk on linen. Photo(cropped) by Lee Fatherree. #enough #subversivecrossstitch #enoughisenough
