Two years ago, Power Up was published. I can't believe how quickly the time has passed, and the wonderful opportunities that came from writing the book: speaking at book festivals, at energy events, and best of all hearing from happy readers! I will continue to work towards a clean energy transition, and stay committed to sharing its importance to as wide an audience as possible. My career in energy has taken many exciting twists and turns, and I am looking forward to whatever comes next! #Energy #EngineeringCareers #Books #Renewables #PowerUp

A year ago, I captained my university's team on the alumni version of University Challenge! I was a bit nervous about watching it at the time, but recently did and it was great fun to relive! I pulled out a few clips to share... This is the final one, from the end of the episode. We didn't make it to the next round, but had a great time! Huge thanks to my amazing team mates @dr_shack_ @clivetyldesley and Professor Lynn Saunders, I hope you all had a great 2025! @uniofnottingham #chemicalengineer #energy #PowerUp #UniversityChallenge #engineeringcareers

A year ago, I captained my university's team on the alumni version of University Challenge! I was a bit nervous about watching it at the time, but recently did and it was great fun to relive! I've pulled out a few clips to share over the next few weeks... A slightly longer one today. These questions were all about energy, and all I could think at the time was 'you better get these right if you don't want to lose your job!!'... got there in the end with the help of the team! @uniofnottingham #chemicalengineer #energy #PowerUp #UniversityChallenge #engineeringcareers

⚡ New Episode: Energy, playful engineering and a secret society 🎙️ Our new episode with Yasmin Ali (author of Power Up and team lead at RWE) is a love letter to the humans behind the power: 💡 How “fun” at work isn’t unprofessional — it’s literally how great teams get things done. 📚 Why engineering education should come with fewer lectures and more “let’s fix this thing in the real world.” 📢 Why the public deserves an energy sector that speaks in human sentences, not acronyms. Oh, and Yasmin’s book Power Up gets a shoutout — because she’s out here making kilowatts cool again and helping non-engineers finally understand what’s going on in those pipes, grids, and panels. Expect laughs, aha moments, and the occasional existential musing about what it means to “power up” a career, a planet, or yourself. 🎧 Tune in now — wherever you get your podcasts. #EnergyTransition #PowerUp #Podcast CleanEnergy STEM CareerJourney
