This Saturday, SVYD is excited to have Emily Ann Ramos feature as our keynote speaker during our Breaking Ground: From Blueprint to Action! Emily currently serves as the Mayor of the City of Mountain View, but her work as a progressive champion extends beyond her elected office to her professional work with SV@Home and even her previous role as President of SVYD.
We invite you to join us this Saturday to hear the keynote address from Emily who embodies the spirit of this year's theme, and can't wait to see you soon!
Always great seeing friends from home here in D.C. Thank you to @mountainviewgov Mayor Emily Ann Ramos and Councilmember Pat Showalter for sharing our residents’ top priorities, including federal funding for key public safety and affordable housing projects.
Had a busy month with throwing the first pitch for little league and girl's softball, attending Alex Lee's Lunar New Year Fundraiser, and providing the welcoming remarks for Congressman Liccardo's town hall.
Grateful to Board President @ottoleed3 for bringing our community together for the 2026 State of the County. @countyofsantaclara
Santa Clara County shows what’s possible when leadership listens, brings people to the table, and works toward real solutions for families, workers, and small businesses.
I’m inspired by the people here who are stepping up to lead, serve, and fight for a stronger, more affordable future for all of us. This is the kind of collaboration and vision we need more of in the State Senate.

The City of Mountain View will have its next council meeting tonight, February 24, 2026. It begins at 5:15pm with a closed session on real estate decisions. This meeting is in person at City Hall (500 Castro St, Mountain View, CA 94041), but you can also join the meeting online on zoom or by dialing (669) 900-9128 and entering Webinar ID: 843 5126 7142.
We will then have a proclamation recognizing American Heart Month and the winners of the Santa Clara County Synopsys Championship Science Fair before going to the consent calendar. Consent calendar items can be passed with a single motion. This could include second readings of ordinances, contracts, reports to council and non-controversial items. The agenda items on the consent calendar are:
4.1 Approve Minutes
4.2 Adoption of Legislative Platform for 2026
4.3 Thompson Mini Park, Project 26-35-Professional Services Agreement
4.4 Miramonte Pump Station Improvements, Phase 2, Project 23-43-Appropriation and Construction Contract Award
Item 5 is open public comment where people can speak on any topic not on the agenda. I plan on limiting all public comments tonight to 1.5 minutes per person.
After that item, we have our big items of the night.
6.1 - New Business: Automated License Plate Reader Contract
6.2- New Business: Fiscal Year 2025-26 Midyear Budget Status Report and Adjustments, Fiscal Year 2026-27 Preliminary General Operating Fund Forecast, and Fiscal Years 2025-27 Council Work Plan: 6-Month Project Update
7.1 - Public Hearing: Small Business Streamlining and Other Minor Zoning Code Updates
If you have any questions or comments about the upcoming meeting, please email me at [email protected]. You can also email the entire council at [email protected].
