As we continue our celebration for #AANHPI Month this May, we want to highlight a few of our amazing leaders here in County of Santa Clara, California. Today, we're celebrating the AANHPI members of @milpitasgov City Council! Of the City's 5 councilmembers, 4 are part of the AANHPI community: Vice Mayor Garry Barbadillo and councilmembers Evelyn Chua, Hon Lien, and William Lam. These councilmembers not only help to make Milpitas an amazing place to live, work, and visit, but also make history with their roles: >Evelyn Chua, first woman of Filipino descent elected to serve on the Milpitas City Council >William Lam, first Chinese-American person elected to the Milpitas City Council Many, many thanks to these public servants for all of their amazing work for Milpitas and D3. We appreciate you!

A very successful 25th Annual Palestinian Cultural Day and Flag Raising, friends! ❤️️🖤💚 On Saturday afternoon, I was honored to sponsor the event alongside my good friend Samir Laymoun, extending the work of my predecessors Pete McHugh and @davecortese . The event -- which had over 200 people in attendance at our County's McEntee Plaza -- was a chance to honor the Palestinian people, their contributions to our community, and the strength they embody. I want to again thank Samir, all of our amazing speakers and performers, and the community for showing up to show our care and support. Thank you everyone, and As-Salaam-Alaikum!

What a treat to celebrate @sunnyvalecommunityservices ! On Thursday evening, I attended the SCS Our Kids Our Community fundraiser, alongside D3 Chief Pam. This annual event is a chance for over 150 philanthropists, corporate supporters, volunteers and community leaders to gather in our mission to prevent hunger and homelessness in our local community. I want to give a tremendous shoutout to Marie Bernard and her team for hosting such an incredible event, on top of showing up to do all of the work day after day. Through SCS's efforts, over 11,500 low-income residents in Sunnyvale feel supported, safe, and seen. Thank you again to SCS for having us, and for all of your great work in my home city!

Honored to have our staff member Elica attend the Santa Clara County Peace Officers Memorial, joining our community in remembrance of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. We extend our deepest gratitude to all law enforcement professionals and their families for their service, courage, and unwavering commitment to keeping our communities safe. Their sacrifice is a lasting reminder of the risks they face every day in service to others. We were also joined by Supervisors Betty Duong and Margaret Abe-Koga, District Attorney Jeff Rosen, Public Defender Damon Silver, Milpitas Mayor Carmen Montano, Sunnyvale Councilmember Murali Srinivasan, Milpitas Councilmember William Lam, and representatives from police departments across Santa Clara County.
