About a month ago, one of my graduation films Teken Mij Een Thuisland was nominated for best film at the Vers Film festival and my beautiful crewmates gave me an insanely generous shoutout, so let me formally introduce you to these mega talented filmmakers and give back the love!
@nourifilm is seriously one of the best directors I’ve ever met and she has continuously proved to be outstanding and unique when it comes to creativity, approach and reinventing the boundaries of documentary. She has also continuously worked her ass off after graduating, so be sure to keep an eye on her!
@mayra.srs and
@roosmarijn.mjh , the producers of this film, will push every boundary for the sake of the film. We were absolutely not supposed (or allowed (at first)) to go to Morocco, but they put their heart and soul into making it happen, because the film needed it.
@max_van_de_pol and I had so many conversations about the visuals and what they should mean, the arc the viewer should feel and how we could portray the narrative in every. single. shot. At some point he became a little bit more of a production designer and I became a little bit of a DOP.
@lilpeptalk made the score for the film, which got him nominated for the Buma Music in Motion award and got him a special mention award at the Keep an Eye Filmscore awards. The score is also available for streaming on Spotify!
The film is available to watch for free at 2doc! There’s a link in my bio :)
