𝙃𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙁𝙤𝙤𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝘼𝙣 𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙃𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙁𝙤𝙤𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙈𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝 at @bricktheater ?!: New Works festival ! An elusive, hermetic puppet troupe has finally emerged from their home in the sewers of NYC to proudly present their puppet opus for one night only.
We’ll be performing twice — Wednesday April 22 and Saturday, 25th — alongside a whole range of other acts. We’re talking clown! We’re talking puppets! We’re talking chaos, surprise, triumph, and tears!!!

I made the little star faces in Sara & Isaiah’s basement back in Feb and then they sat in my fabric bin for months 🙃 They had legs for a little bit ! I’m glad they found their home

If you peak behind the lil freak you can see the motion control system fabricated by the one and only Jeff Pelz - wiggle a little and it’ll start the fabric spinning thru the quilt!

Lots of gratitude to @ankhlave for making a special home on @governorsisland ! I just finished install on this new part-puppet, part-machine piece. It’s a story my dad used to tell us about he and his grandfather trying to get a kite up in the air. Communicated via shadow puppets projected onto a hand sewn bedsheet screen (special bts of the taped together setup hidden in the back🙃). Come see it live at the AnkhLave house (408 B Colonels Row) during open studios!
I’ll be there next weekend — 7/26 and 7/27 — along with the incredible cohort of artists currently in residence on the island. Grab a lil ferry ride and come say hi 🤗✨
