Meet Emma Poyer - Event Manager, Choreo-Graphic Systems Emma Poyer is a Reunionese multidisciplinary dance performer and choreographer. Trained in Contemporary Dance, Ballet, and global styles, she has worked with choreographers including (La)Horde, Joy Alpuerto-Ritter and James Cousins, implementing Physical Theatre into her practice. At École des Sables, she immersed herself in the raw power of Senegalese Contemporary Dance. Her time at Verve, under the artistic direction of Matteo Marfoglia, has expanded her connection to sensation and instinct through Gaga practice. Maloya, the heartbeat of Réunion Island, pulses through her. An ancestral rhythm that keeps her tethered to home. Currently, she is part of Marina Abramović’s new performance Balkan Erotic Epic choreographed by Blenard Azizaj. She joined Amina Khayyam Dance Company, who’s repertoire uses Kathak Dance to tell the stories of the marginalised female voice.
