The designs are a twist on funny motivational quotes I found on vintage postcards and ephemera. All pieces are unisex and have a relaxed, oversized fit. Everything is made from @pangaia ’s innovative bio-based materials, eliminating microplastics.
Explorations and tests of the bottle mark for @museum_street_tavern_york
Glass onions or onion bottles were developed during the 18th century, around the time that the pub was first constructed.
The technique used to produce the bottles made them stronger and more stable to store and ship than others of the day. They were almost black in colour, protecting the contents from light.
Onion bottles were often hand blown, creating an imperfect, rustic shape, which was then stamped with the winemakers seal. The design thinking was to embrace these imperfections when creating the bottle mark for the brand.
Not only does the bottle icon reference the heritage of the pub, it’s also a nod to the human element of the brand, and the craft and care that goes into the food and drinks served there. Good, honest, quality ingredients. No fuss, just great flavours.
Branding for @museum_street_tavern_york - a new gastro-pub in the heart of York city centre. York is a city full of history, and the pub has a rich heritage and distinct architectural style. There has been a public house at this site since the 1700’s.
The logo and brand mark are inspired by rustic and characterful hand blown 18th century English wine bottles. The colour palette is inspired by timeless English heritage paints and creates an overall feeling that is warm, tactile and familiar.
Branding created at the end of last year for What To Drink - a Dutch online platform recommending no & low alcohol drinks.
The aim was for the branding to feel fun and familiar. Those using the platform want exciting low or 0% alcohol options, but still like to socialise and feel included with their boozy friends.
I crafted the bespoke logo which has unique features to represent the human aspect and personality of the platform users. Individually they have their own quirks, but collectively they form the community of sober or sober curious people.
