Double appointment at @spazioc21 with @bigtimebrad within @fotografia_europea held in Reggio Emilia from today to June the 14th.
Hard to say which one of this expression of his art touched me more but he probably knew after our chat.(thank you Brad😬)
The Gallery hosts the exhibition ‘Dead God, Thank You’, by Brad Downey, six paintings depict six different trees, each derived from an original photograph. The work carries a profound symbolism, evoking the passage of time and the changing fate of all living beings.

At the first floor at @lostudiodesign , curated by SpazioC21 an incredible an unique work and a unique perspective brought by Brad Downey talks about appropriation of copyright, discussion of the authorship of the work of art, use of other people’s images for the production of his own works. All this can be found in the corpus of works “ What Lies Beneath ”.
The title itself is provocative: what is underneath, what is hidden beneath appearances, what do we see beyond the image? that we have in front of us.
At LO STUDIO DESIGN, on the occasion of the 21st edition of the European Photography Festival , Downey revives the works of the artist who makes appropriation his hallmark, using precisely the same method. We are faced with a clear case of unauthorized appropriation, exploiting the most debated ‘brand’ in the art world regarding the question of intellectual property and authorship of the work at a time when Artificial Intelligence is also complicating matters.

Always fulfilling and inspiring working with @spazioc21 team. Sandra, Eugenio, Isora and many more.
Such an honour.
Will come back soon with the press release and so many thanks. But the first is to the amazing artist.
The first part of the magical residency at @villagamberaia is coming to an end, and I couldn’t be more grateful to @emanuelamazzonis and the team at Gamberaia for welcoming me and @claudiagrad , creating the perfect environment for blossoming and advancing in our research.
If life is rich thanks to the people who support us, these weeks had me feeling insanely blessed. I left @diamantinolabophoto.labo and came to Florence with hundreds of sheets of photosensitive paper. I ended up not only using them all in the garden, but also working on silicon molds, wax & glass. This kid is blossoming in many ways & only thanks to the people watering her roots. More to come! ☀️
The Municipality of Junglinster and VF Art Projects are pleased to present “Identities: when fashion meets photography” 📸✨
