January 15, 2026// 150 year old canvas found in a mine.
A anthropological evaluation. the intersection of forgotten locations, found objects, bygone technology, and contemporary human.
When presented with a historically significant material, how to best celebrate, and capture. I cant thank
@brentwunderwood enough for the trust on the 150+ year old canvas he found months ago in a mine deep in his ghost town,
@tommymidnight for being willing to wear it, and photographer
@zeitweitz for keeping these forgotten procedures/ chemicals going and capturing this masterpiece.
As a fashion designer, its become difficult to perpetuate the cycles as we know, and accept them. im more concerned with memories, and what they look like, how they fade- how we disappear; or the leftover arftifacts and tracks we leave behind.
Years ago we started a sub project called
@deathvalleyminersco it was hugely inspired by
@cerro.gordo.ca and Brent’s positivity, and excitement of an area jam packed with historical significance, yet wildly inhospitable- I think this image, to me truly, celebrates many ideas converging.
