I’m not an art critic or a curator—just someone lucky enough to cross paths with Peter and Daniela Reginato years ago in New York. What began as a curiosity for one super-colorful handbag turned into a long-lasting partnership and friendship.
@danielazny @reginatopeter and I started working side by side to make art wearable (long before wearable art was a thing) with one simple goal in mind: to bring his work closer to younger audiences and make it accessible for everyone to enjoy.
This spring, after more than a year of planning, countless calls, and what felt like millions of minutes spent listing, writing, editing, and strategizing with
@na1milo , I had the privilege of bringing Peter to Athens for his first solo show here, my hometown.
From navigating shipping and import logistics to shaping every piece of communication and promotional material, we truly built this project from A to Z.
The result was CHROMA at SIANTI gallery: 31 paintings that lit up the space with Peter’s rhythm, positivity, and unapologetic boldness.
The name came naturally (chroma is the Greek word for color) because color has always been Peter’s love language. It’s how he moves, breathes, and laughs through art. Making life color-FULL.
For me, this wasn’t just about hanging paintings on walls. It was about sharing Peter’s world—his humor, his energy, his joy—with a new audience. And judging by the smiles, I think Athens got it.
It was also deeply personal to me, building a bridge between my two worlds and life chapters.
I’m endlessly grateful to Peter and Daniela for trusting me and becoming my extended family; to Aimilio for being my creative partner-in-crime; to
@vassilikisianti and the wonderful Sianti team for their warm hospitality; and to my family and friends who supported me through every step and celebrated this milestone with me.
Today is Peter’s birthday, and I couldn’t help but pay tribute to this unforgettable journey we’ve shared.
At 80, he says he’s making the best work of his life, and standing in front of those canvases, I believe him.
Happy birthday, Peter—what a joy to celebrate you, your art, and this unforgettable adventure together.
