Book Presentation at Meteoritis: Picnicking Matters: Big Questions and Tiny Revelations around Care and Healing Ecologies Saturday 9th, May 7 pm: conversation and participatory session at @ometeoritis , Fokionos Negri 68, Kypseli. Join us for the presentation of our book exploring care, healing, and collective practice, rooted in feminist dialogue, reflection, and nonlinear, picnic-like engagement. Come to discuss the book making process and to try out together some of the scores shared in the book as invitations to collectively explore learning, care, imagination and more. This time we’ll adapt them to engage with the bookshop and its context, the pedestrian street Fokionos Negri, with its plants, trees and joyful atmosphere. This publication is the result of a long process of collective reflection. It began with a series of workshops designed to open space for writing, dialogue, and attentive listening. These encounters allowed us to explore our internal dynamics, revisit our intentions and political positioning, and reflect on how our relationships – among ourselves and with others – have evolved. Throughout this process, we welcomed not only insights and inspiration, but also moments of uncertainty, emotional weight, and the need to slow down. This book carries all of that: the thinking, the feeling, the pauses, the contradictions. The result is a polyphonic, situated, and experimental publication: a living archive of our ways of working, thinking, sensing, and healing together. It is a shared attempt to articulate what it means – and what it takes – to become and remain a collective in times of social, ecological, and cultural breakdown. Carefully edited and beautifully designed, the book functions as a container for the voices, images, concepts, and rituals that have emerged from our journey. Interwoven throughout the book are images from our gatherings, mappings of recurring ideas and questions, and references to artists, theorists, activists, and somatic practitioners who have nourished our work. Nous sommes en 1715, année charnière où les Turcs reprennent le contrôle de la Morée, le Péloponnèse, après une période d’occupation de trente ans par les Vénitiens, déjà précédée par des années d’occupation alternativement ottomanes et vénitiennes. Comment le peuple grec voit-il cette lutte entre les deux occupants ? Comment vit-il la domination que lui imposent les occidentaux ? Comment ne pas se sentir ignoré, méprisé, exploité et trahi ? Et finalement pourquoi les Grecs semblent-ils résister avec si peu de conviction au retour de l’envahisseur turc ? _ 1715. Ενετοκρατούμενη Αργολίδα. Ο πειρατής Λιμπεράκης Γερακάρης αλωνίζει στις θάλασσες της περιοχής, οι Ενετοί ολοκληρώνουν τα οχυρωματικά τους έργα στο Παλαμήδι και αρχαιοκάπηλοι από κάθε γωνιά της Ευρώπης καταφθάνουν με τα καράβια τους για να αρπάξουν ό,τι πολυτιμότερο κρύβει μέσα της η ελληνική γη. Οι ντόπιοι στενάζουν κάτω από τη βαριά φορολογία του κατακτητή, τη φτώχια, τις επιδημίες, ενώ οι Τούρκοι ετοιμάζονται να ξαναπάρουν τον τόπο. Και μέσα σε όλη αυτή τη σκόνη του χρόνου και της ιστορίας, δύο νέα παιδιά, ο Αντριάνο και η Κατινιώ, ένα Βενετσιανόπουλο και μια Ρωμιά, ερωτεύονται με έναν έρωτα τρυφερό, απόλυτο, καταστροφικό.
