It’s been a crazy week and next week will be hectic so I’ll do my best to keep up with @thevintagefashionchallenge but I’m going to be a bit all over the place I couldn’t let the accessories prompt go by without a post about my favourite outfit accessory - HATS I’ve always loved dresses but it took a long time before I thought about how to accessorise and I still feel I’m figuring out my taste a bit. But for sure I love to play with hats. My favourite period is 40s and I’m definitely entering my big and unique hat era, but I also love a simple 50s cap. It’s been a busy few days so I’m playing catch-up with @thevintagefashionchallenge with my ‘favourite decade’ I dance a lot between 1930s-1950s (although I’ve started toying with other periods) my go-to is definitely 1940s. The 40s have my favourite styled suits and my favourite hats and my favourite coats and and and and and and… I’m just drawn to the 40s. The only thing is that I rarely style my hair for that period.. it’s always 30s or 50s… 🤷‍♀️ Any suggestions on styles I should try for short hair? Day 9 for @thevintagefashionchallenge is neutrals. I love colour but i also love to wear neutrals so I had a hard time choosing. So this is a big photo dump of looks through the year. 😅 Firstly showing off a little crop jacket I have with metallic embroidery and gold stars. My first 1950s coat, a #lilliann suit jacket from @alexshaberdashery , a 3 piece suit set that I got from @susanels_vintage My 60s cape was a flea market find and my black velvet gown is the riskiest piece I own as it breaks or unzips almost every time I wear it, regardless of repairs. But I love it. 🤷‍♀️ My ‘tux’ look is one of my favourite things to wear. Then I have 1920s sheath dress styled with some pieces from @whatkatiediduk Pictured in various suits with friends @misssweetpeavy and Erwan from @falbalaspucesfalbalas Final images feature my hand painted kimono and a 1920s piano shawl. Day 7 for @thevintagefashionchallenge is purple and, other than orange is probably my least worn colour. I have one purple suit that I wear a lot (but hardly photograph) and otherwise it’s very rare to see me in purple. Not sure why, I have no issue with the colour. So this is a mix of the last year or so but some of these are outfits I was styling for my shop… so… does it count? Some favourites are my 1940s lavender swimsuit Photo by @hervesainthelier My 40s lavender gown that I wore to perform at Paris Follies and my 40s coat, I recently found a capelet that matched it really well and just needed to be restored. Day 6 for @thevintagefashionchallenge is PINK! I absolutely love pink, particularly pastels. Showcasing a few looks from the year (and some that I decided to sell so it’s their final look). One of my favourites is my crepe jacket. A huge restoration project which is now one of my most worn pieces. A 30s coral pink knit set - still new to knots and I’m loving collecting various colours. This one I hunted down after being inspired by @littleantiqueme Final fav is my 60s trapeze dress. Day 5 for @thevintagefashionchallenge is blue - not a colour I’m particularly obsessed with, unless they are muted, pastel or more of a navy. Today I wore my first ever 40s suit, inspired by the challenge. It’s probably still my favourite (even after over a decade) it goes with everything! Day 4 of @thevintagefashionchallenge is yellow and green, two colours I ABSOLUTELY LOVE!!! I can’t get enough chartreuse pieces but have tried to show a mix of some other pieces. My latest piece in my collection is this 1940s cropped knit - obsessed! I picked it up at the most recent @authentic.vintage.fair as some true vintage casual wear (the weak part of my collection) A few other favourites, including my mustard yellow suit with lucite buttons, my green swing coat, my epic yellow princess coat and a matchy matchy outfit (a handmacher suit) with @abenne37 The chartreuse gown is yet to be worn. I spent AGES restoring it and it’s ready to go, but I need some advice on foundation wear as it is thin! Thoughts? I love colour week! Todays prompt with @thevintagefashionchallenge is red/orange I decided to use the prompt to inspire my OOTD. Today I visited the flea markets and wore my 40s Handmacher suit with b&w houndstooth, a red 50s princess coat, 40s blouse in red and accessorised with my ‘arrow’ cartwheel hat and umbrella with carved lucite on the handle. #parisfleamarket #1950sfashion #1940sfashion #vintagesuit #vintagehat @ehranjadevintage

Day 2 of @thevintagefashionchallenge is style evolution For me, I’ve had a love of dresses and ‘swishy skirts’ for as long as I can recall. Once I was working I started playing more with my style, often influenced by 60s and 70s. When I discovered ‘true vintage’ the 1960s was most accessible for me - plus I loved the bold colours, prints and the occasional beehive. I then became more of a 50s girl, particularly with the fit and flare silhouette. 30s and 40s were a dream but slowly I built a collection. It’s what I mostly wear now, especially as Paris boasts so many deco-40s events. Hopefully I can take some of my mod minis and 50s swishy skirts out for a spin again soon! So excited to join the @thevintagefashionchallenge again!!! It’s always so wonderful to connect to others in the vintage community and get to know them better. I’m Ehran. I’m an Aussie who moved to Paris with my dog Louey and My Cat Otis. I am a jazz singer and also sell vintage fashion @ehranjadevintage and in the last year I’ve been modelling for art students. I’ve been collecting true vintage since I was 15 and prior to that went through some rather questionable fashion tastes - though one thing was certain - i loved a good dress! Now i primarily wear 1940s and, after finally realising I needed to accessorise my dress collection I’ve become rather obsessed with hats (and am still lying to myself about disliking shoes) Seems to be an ideal moment to introduce my favourite accessory (jokes) Alex @abenne37 - who has an old soul, a big heart and tells terrible jokes.
