RACE RECAP- WORLD CHAMPS:
It was crazy. We got big winds, heavy rain, hail, thunder, lightning AND sun. I never thought Iād be cycling on roads (now rivers), dodging tumble weeds and spectators chairs as they blew across the road ...but I did finish... which was my aim w my broken toe -and I wasnāt last in my age group- so Iāll take that as a win lol.
Mentally it was the hardest thing I think Iāve ever done- you go to some dark places and ask yourself some big questions. I felt pretty sick the day before and Iām bummed I couldnāt race harder- but super happy I could be there period -very humbling.
Itās not always about your time, lesson learned. Onwards and upwards for next weekends race now!
