I signed up for strada.easel challenge even without any clue how I’ll scale through,
I mean no colours in sight,
Canvases unprimed,
Left only with my beloved easel to hold on to.
Thoughts of where to kick off this challenge weighed on me,
But as a creative, I scabbarded my fears and in fact wore it as an armour.
I quickly concluded that ibadan has always been my go-to location,
How could it not, a city alive with colours and dust,
A city quiet in it’s steady strides to giving me reasons to come running back.
I quickly primed my blank surfaces, gathered a few of almost exhausted oil tubes hoping it will sustain my creative juices through the 31days or maybe a miracle happens and it multiplies like the wine at Cana of Galilee.
I turned to my luggage unpacked and grabbed few clothes then set out on a road trip.
My paradise is 717.7km away from my desired destination or even more. Talk about a long distance relationship.
When I thought I’ve faced it all, I misplaced my easel stand, that left me stranded and confused at the same time.
My mind kept racing,
My thoughts everywhere all at once,
Should I cancel the painting challenge, I mean there’s always next time..
Should I wait to go on an expedition for my beloved easel?
Should I compromise and pain streakingly do it without my beloved?
It has always been a part of my adventures…
Alas, I bode farewell to my beloved, in hopes that we’ll meet again. I moved, inches closer to my choice destination, “pace setters” destination…
And now,….
I can boldly say I participated in January strad.easel challenge 2025. And yes,I faced all the challenges there was to face.
My phone gave up on me,
The dust was almost working against me,
The people in some locations were a tad difficult…
But in the end
All paintings are ready and available for sale
