Introducing 93 Til Infinity by @nishi_and@brooklynvintageclub . 16 one of one bags created from deconstructed vintage jackets of the 16 teams that made the 1993 NBA Playoffs.
I came up with the concept at the beginning of 2020 and hit the homie @youngluther to jam on a prototype with an old Suns jacket I had. That was in March ‘20🙃. From there, my guy @nishi_and took the reigns on making all the bags by hand, concocting a new pattern for each one based on how the jacket spoke to him - truly amazing stuff. Over the last two years I’ve done my best Nic Cage in Gone in 60 Seconds impression to source era-specific jackets for each team (no, the purple and blue mountain Jazz jacket would not cut it), which we then deconstructed and Nishi put back together in the form of these utility bags.
You might be asking “why ‘93?” Well, aside from the nerdy stuff like how that is regarded as one of the GOAT playoffs across the board and it’s when this style of jacket was arguably at it’s peak popularity, it is actually a bit more personal for me. Watching the Bulls beat the Suns in the ‘93 Finals is my first actual NBA memory, and where my love for this game has taken me ever since is something I am infinitely grateful for. Hope you enjoy the bags as much as we enjoyed making them. ❤️
