New podcast released, link in bio!
This is @ectomorphit (@__bbmmgg__ + @erikadotnet ) doing a hivemind DJ set closing the 35th anniversary of @tresorberlin , on the Globus floor, at Tresor 35. On this joyous occasion, we played in a celebratory way, with a nod to our influences and a vision of the future, highlighting what inspires us in the varied landscape of today. With Tresor having such an important place in our history, it was wonderful to be able to celebrate its history while participating in it, a real full circle moment. This set was performed on 4 CDJ-3000s, a Xone:96 and 2 pedals: a @strymonengineering Blue Sky and a Strymon EC-1.
Ectomorph is coming to Berlin, where the hive mind will DJ the closing set of Globus at Tresor 35, a 30 hour party celebrating Tresor’s birthday. We couldn’t be more honored to be on such a legendary line up with so many of our heroes. With Tresor having such an important place in our history, it’s wonderful to be able to celebrate its history while participating in it, a real full circle moment.

Maybe you are interested to play live, but aren’t sure about where to begin, or how to choose which gear to use. Or you have played live before, but are looking for technical and creative ways to gain confidence and improve your practice. Maybe you’re not trying to play out on a stage, but are interested in getting out of the box in your productions, and taking a flow approach to making music rather than building it in a DAW.
This workshop is designed to support artists at different stages of their music-making practice, whether playing live is already a part of your creative process or not. Space is limited to 20 people, so if you’re interested to join me in this intimate learning environment, grab one of the last spots.

Ectomorph aka Erika and BMG compiled some of their vast musical influences on a 2 hour mix. From CHBB, Drexciya and Prince to Anthony “Shake” Shakir. The mix aired via Refuge Worldwide and is now available on SoundCloud and Apple Music via link in bio.
Ectomorph occupy a unique and strange place within Detroit Techno history. Founded in 1994 and officially comprised of BMG & Erika since 2016, they enjoy a strong underground cult following, which they have continued to develop through releases on their own InterdimensionalTransmissions label and their all analog, improvisational livesets. A first extract from their live set at Globus in 2021, “Searching (Live At Globus)”, was released earlier this year on Tresor’s ‘030313’ compilation.
Ectomorph is presenting a class at the Underground Music Academy today from 1:30 – 2:30, this may be live streaming as well, with BMG on a Verbos modular and Erika interfacing with that via her Hapax sequencer. Then we will be off to Neptunian Influence to play from 3-5 directly before Titonton. After that you can find us at Return to the Source all weekend. BMG plays No Way Back before dawn, Erika plays NWB after the sun comes up, and plays a totally different style with dBridge on Monday at IT Presents The Bunker. See you somewhere within these clashing dimensions!
Ectomorph is doing a workshop this Saturday at @undergroundmusicacademy from 1:30 - 2:30, @__bbmmgg__ & @erikadotnet will present making a basic modular patch with BMG’s @verboselectronics modular system being controlled by Erika’s @squarpinstruments ’s Hapax.

Ectomorph’s ‘Searching’, from the upcoming ‘030313’ compilation, was recorded live at Globus in 2022, when BMG and Erika composed 9 songs in an intense week long session in the club, and Erika had to play on borrowed equipment after her case was lost on a flight.
The Mini-LP in collaboration with Carhartt WIP, comes with exclusive material from Detroit and Berlin by Model 500, Ectomorph, AMX, DJ Stingray 313, JakoJako and Erik Jabari. Out on May 23rd.
