The US pressing of the Policy of 3 double LP is now available for preorder from @protaginc @ebullitionrecords @deathwishinc Featuring all of the band’s studio recordings. Remastered by @phdamage Pressed on gray recycled vinyl. Policy of 3 are an American emocore quartet from New Jersey and Philadelphia who helped define the sound of early 90s political post-hardcore and whose 2025 reformation has been met with the kind of joy that only comes when a band truly mattered the first time around. Their name alone was a statement of intent; inspired by a term referencing the philosophy of a group of 1930s Chinese farmers who nonviolently advocated for peasant power and independence from the wealthy landowning class. Policy of 3 arrived with their politics already embedded in their identity before a single note was played. This was not a band that attached a message onto their music as an afterthought. The message and the music were the same thing from the beginning. In a moment when post-hardcore was evolving rapidly and in multiple directions at once, Policy of 3 carved out something specific and their own. They blended the raw energy of punk rock with left-wing politics, more varied tempos, and an emo introspection that was authentic and natural. Their sound drew comparisons to fellow Ebullition Records bands Moss Icon and Still Life, and to Hoover — arpeggiated guitars, sung and spoken vocals, the quiet-to-explosive dynamic that defined the best emocore of that era — but with a political directness and intellectual weight that set them apart. Their lyrics confronted social and political injustice head on, but with a contemplative nuance that trusted the listener could meet them halfway. This was not music that shouted slogans – it was music that asked questions and wanted conversations. - @viquesimba Live Photos by @shawnscallen @90s_hardcore__ @phillyhardcorehistory

Ebullition, Protagonist Music and Policy of 3 teaming up to bring the US pressing of the Policy of 3 discography LPx2 into existence! 500 on Eco-friendly recycled grey vinyl. The Policy of 3 LPx2 is now available for pre-order, and the records will start shipping out on the 25th of May. The discography LPx2 will be available in stores and distros around the world (in Europe Stonehenge from France already released their version of this Policy of 3 discography). Policy of 3 will be playing this weekend at the King of the Monsters Fest. Ebullition will be there! Come say hello. A pleasure to do a project with Brendan from Protagonist. Check out some of the other great titles on Protagonist like the SPIRITISTE - Excommunication Hymns LP, which is a split between Protagonist and Tor Johnson, SLEEPING BODY/VOICE OF REASON/SUICIETY - 1992 LPx3, and WET THE ROPE/ICEPIELD - split LP. Spiritiste are also playing King of the Monsters! Icepield will be playing with Downcast, End of the Line and Deaf Club in June. I went ahead and made an insert from the Policy of 3 CD for the mail order versions of the Policy of 3 discography LPx2 that come from Ebullition. / (for wholesale or just e-mail orders direct to [email protected]) / (should be listed sometime today!) (should be listed sometime today!) (will be listed soon!) There are still a handful of the hand made Policy of 3 CDx2 available at this moment, though probably gone momentarily. If the discography LPx2 does well I will talk with Policy of 3 about maybe doing another limited pressing of the discography CD that Ebullition released in 2005. @protaginc @policyof3_official @90s_hardcore__ @phillyhardcorehistory #90semo #njhc #phillypunk #policyof3 #ebullitionrecords

At Midnight on Friday May 15th I will make the 35 Policy of Three double CDs available via our mail order site. (Edit: Eastern Standard Time). /categories/all Lots of people aren’t going to get them. The band has 39 and we have 38. Also, the first 25 people that order the Policy of 3 discography LPx2 from us will get a copy of the CD booklet. I have some extra CD booklets, and the booklet is really nice. I am also considering including a printed copy of the text from the CD that Bull wrote with all the mail order copies. It resonates with me and it is a shame that it isn’t part of the discography LPx2. As I have said hundreds if not thousands of times, hardcore is a community not a style of music. Policy of Three was one of the great hardcore bands of the early/mid ‘90s. The amazing thing about hardcore is that it isn’t static. It is many different music scenes existing in parallel. The most important thing is the decentralization. Hundreds of thousands of kids all over the world making hardcore music in their own way. Hardcore has always been about change. The notes and chords and musical styles always adapting. The constant was the community, the rebellion, the space for self expression, and the celebration of decentralization. Yes, there have always been and there always will be conservative visions of what hardcore sounds like… thus the one constant since 1983 (when I first started listening to hardcore) is that there is always some stale group of people saying hardcore died. Fuck that shit. Hardcore is what you make of it. It is a playground. Make noise, have fun, and try to change the world along the way. Hardcore for the hardcore. True till death, indeed.

Kent from @ebullitionrecords recently found a box with 78 of our double CD anthology that they released in 2004. They had the booklets with them but no covers. I just so happened to still have the original silk screen. So like a good 90s punk I bought some good looking paper from @theresourceexchange , then @wellwisher39 and I- @bullgerv printed a limited run of covers! They are all hand numbered with my grandfather’s (!) rubber stamp set. Ebullition will have them for sale soon and we’ll have some at the @kotmrecords fest May 21-23 in Phoenix AZ. We hope to see you there! @90s_hardcore__ @phillyhardcorehistory #90semo #njhc #phillypunk #policyof3

Still plugging away at all the orders. I put up some one off Ebullition/HeartattaCk shirts. Lots of orders went out today, more to go. More to print. /store Yesterday the US pressing of Policy of Three arrived. This old dude helped me unpack the pallet. Split release between Ebullition and Protagonist. Policy of Three will have them at the King of the Monsters fest in a few weeks, and pre-orders will start soon… and we will start shipping them out after we get back from King of The Monsters fest! Going to be a busy month. #protagonistrecords #policyofthree #kingofthemonstersfest

I screened 70 double sided shirts tonight. And I decide to break out this old HeartattaCk print. I made 10 of them as I just had some extra ink and I wanted to see how the screen was doing. Seems good. All the neighbors came by to see what I was up to. Just making shirts in my driveway. Have to show them how screens work, and explain why I like doing them myself. I sent out some shirts today and a lot of Orchid records. I didn’t know how to add audio to these posts because normally I do them on my computer and I guess audio isn’t possible on the computer? I figure Orchid is appropriate as we sell a lot of them via mail order. I made a sort button for t-shirts. Otherwise t-shirts are at the end. I am going to put up a place to order weirdo and one off shirts, as I like doing weird stuff. I am working on all the orders. I have to buy some more shirts but will have them in a few days. Thanks for the orders. I still have some more old screens to try out. Some I can’t do as I doubt I could get permission… like I have a rad SSD shirt that I need to re-make for myself. Policy of Three coming out this month. Hardcore is a community, not a style of music. It has been that way since I first joined this community in 1983. The music was always changing, morphing, and mutating. Every year parts of it changed. That was true for the entire 40+ years I have been living as a punk. I still consider myself a hardcore punk. It is a way of life. Hardcore for the hardcore.

I put up about 200 shirts on our mailorder site. A mix of different versions. If you prefer solid black or solid white then feel free to mention that in the notes if you order. If the size or style that you want is sold out then just wait and I will do more. I can only do so much at once. I was doing more test shirts and felt compelled to mess around a bit. I like the unique chaos that can come out of it. If you want to support Ebullition releasing new music then please pick up the Visions LP that we released! New Visions LP coming this year. Policy of Three discography coming this month. I am still playing around with a black on black. I mixed a bit of white to see if I like the look. Getting closer. Maybe a little less white. Okay… shirts to screen, orders to pack up and all that. I have over 40 years of doing mail order for my punk projects. No Answers, Ebullition, HeartattaCk, and more Ebullition. Always something. Hardcore for the hardcore.

Testing out an ink for the first time (green galaxy). The white was nice and thick and creamy and went down great on a black shirt. I was really impressed with it. The yellow and black ink, on the other hand, were more watery and thus much harder to work with considering the nature of my very DIY screens. Both screens that make the back designs are just silk screen stapled to painting frames, so they aren’t as taut as a more professional screen. I used the white first, so I was a bit surprised at how different the colors were. The learning curve was backwards, as what I learned from the white was a mistake when using the black and yellow. A couple of mistakes for sure. The black shirt is a one off. I was just curious how the black ink would look on black. Probably it will be very transparent… so that will most likely be a one of a kind. I can probably fix my errors with a little trickery though I have had a few people ask me about rejects, so maybe some people will want them. I just need to heat cure them and wash them to make sure they are properly cured. Later tonight or tomorrow I will probably put up about 150 shirts on our mailorder site. A handful of Yaphet Kotto, Ebullition one sided, Ebullition two sided (with and without text). Both Gildan and Comfortable Colors for most designs. I will announce it once I do, I guess. Hopefully with my next run I can cut the errors down to zero. My second time using the Versatex ink I had zero errors. So my goal is zero errors. I have some weird stuff to try still. Going to try to perfect a black on black, and also I want to do some color mixes so that can do the back using more than just yellow and black.

New version of the Orchid - Chaos is Me LP on Film Noir Black (AKA Midnight black, Black Death, Black Sheep Black, or as it would have been called in the '90s, black vinyl). /store It has been a long time since we made them on black. So 500 more on black. We also still have the Red with Black-Hi Melt version, but the black vinyl ones are a bit cheaper for those that care. We also got the last of the Palatka discographies.... and I will be doing 1 sided Ebullition shirts in multiple colors (like Maroon and Military Green) in adult sizes over the next few days... those will just appear on our web site during the next 3 to 7 days. I am doing another 200 shirts. So this time they won't sell out instantly... though I can't print 200 shirts too quickly... have to eat, sleep, watch the occasional Kdrama, and make room for Battlestations (my current gaming group's game campaign). That giant "miniature" is my whaleoid character. Still working on sorting out how best to do international orders for shirts. So I ask for your patience... And "I Want More Life" versions of the Ebullition shirts coming in 2 to 4 weeks, I guess... I just have to burn a screen. May is going to be a little crazy as I am going with Downcast at the end of May to their Portland/Seattle shows and we are also going to King Of the Monsters fest.

I listed all the shirts I have left on the mail order site. /store If you order something feel free to use the "Notes" section on the order form if you have requests about ink choices. While I decided to make both Comfort Colors and Gildan 5000 shirts, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on Comfort Colors shirts as they are very expensive and major screw ups on those shirts would be costly. So I don't have a lot of Comfort Colors listed. I also didn't make any Small shirts, and I didn't make a lot of XXL and XXXL shirts. On the next round I will make some Small, and I will make more Comfort Colors, and more XXL and XXXL as needed. I also will make some one sided shirts on the next round, that will be less expensive. Pricing these shirts was difficult. I feel like they are too expensive, but most feedback I got was that I should/could charge more. I enjoy playing around with the ink and making unique color blends. It is hard to know how to list the shirts when some are so unique. I am not sure how the unique blends will go over in 2026. I may also put up some pre-order options, but I am not sure how best to format that... I don't want to bite off more than I can chew. Feel free to make requests either here or you can e-mail me direct at [email protected] I can make other shirt brands and I could also make some Women specific sizes if there is interest. I had some requests for Youth Large shirts. I will also do some other colors. I plan to do the Maroon in adult sizes next time. This was just the first round. I still have some old screens that I have yet to use (Yaphet Kotto and HeartattaCk for instance). The women with the raised fists design is a shirt I made after I had used that piece of art in HeartattaCk. I will also eventually burn some new screens based on classic Ebullition inserts that I made over the years. Finally, I am still considering trying to make some basketball jerseys. I need to try some different water based inks that didn't exist 20 or 30 years ago. I have a lot to learn. I appreciate all feedback, positive or negative.
