In our conversation with Erica Woodland (S2E10), we talked about how fascist seek to emotionally overwhelm you, but we can't let that get in the way of our movements. Erica shared how our mind, body, and spirit are connected and while feeling anger or burnout is completely valid, it can get displaced in our communities and movements. To learn more about how to navigate the emotional toll of this fascist regime, check out our episode with Erica and visit the resource hub (/resources) for more information. #MentalHealthMatters #CommunityCare #HealingTogether

Fascism doesn't just affect politics or our physical world, it also has big impacts on our emotional well-being. In Season 2, Episode 10 we talked with Erica Woodland about how the emotional overwhelm of living under a fascist regime and how resisting fascism is a healing strategy in itself.  Check out the episode and the resources at fascismbarometer.org and Erica's work on healing justice at National Queer & Trans Therapists of Color Network (/en/) and @nqttcn . . . #fascismbarometer #fascism101 #healingjourney #traumarecovery #mentalhealthmatters #nqttcn #resourcehub

Uplifting this illuminating conversation between our Founding Director, Erica Woodland, and Ejeris Dixon, host of the Fascism Barometer podcast 🌟🎙️🌟 From @fascismbarometer : We don’t talk about the emotional toll of surviving and resisting under fascism enough. Every day it feels like there is a new headline and a new horror to process. Our hearts, bodies, and spirits can only hold so much. How do you cope to stay grounded and resilient? In this week’s episode, we chat with @ebmore1 , a healing justice visionary, on how fascism is impacting our mental health and our capacity to organize. He comes from decades of experience working at the intersections of movements for racial, gender, economic, trans and queer justice and liberation. If you’re interested in learning how to feel everything to fight strategically, then you won’t want to miss this one. The podcast is live now on our website and all streaming platforms. What happens when the same institutions that have failed Black, Indigenous, disabled, queer, trans, and poor communities for generations begin automating that failure through AI? In our debut op-ed for NewsOne, Healing Justice Lineages co-editors Cara Page and Erica Woodland share why predictive algorithms can’t replace community-led care, and why Healing Justice offers a political and spiritual framework for collective survival. This moment calls for care rooted in dignity, accountability, and relationship: not automation. 🗞️ Read the full op-ed at the link in bio or at bit.ly/hj-ai. #HealingJustice #CareNotCode #HealingJusticeLineages #CommunityCare #DataJustice #DisabilityJustice #AbolitionIsHealing #TechWontSaveUs

Can y’all believe it’s been NINE whole years! So much gratitude to everyone who has made this work possible! 🖤🥳💫Repost • @nqttcn 🎉 Hey! Today is our birthday!!!! We’ve been working toward healing justice and collective liberation for QTBIPOC for nearly a decade now. This past solar year brought us lessons in growth, readiness, and what it takes to build power within our community. As contradictions heightened in the imperial core, our organization adapted to meet the increasingly urgent needs of mental health practitioners, organizers and community members. We carry forward into our next year with a clear political mandate and a continued commitment to our Theory of Liberation. Here are some ways you can evolve with us: ✊🏾Join our movement — In the spirit of our nine-year anniversary, we call on our broader communities to deepen your commitment to building collective power through healing justice by joining our base-building organization via link in bio. 🌱 Celebrate our wins — Read our 2024 End of Year report via link in bio and see all the ways we grew last year, all thanks to your continued presence, commitment, and love. 🎁 Donate to our future — Help sustain liberatory systems of care into the next year via link in bio.

Healing Justice in Dangerous Times: A Conversation with Cara Page @changingfrequencies & Erica Woodland @ebmore1 💬✨ Healing justice is an abolitionist and anti-capitalist framework rooted in the liberatory care our communities deserve. In a world where state violence continues to escalate and everything feels ripe for co-optation, NQTTCN’s own Erica Woodland reminds us: We must not do the state’s work for the state. Cara, a co-architect of the Healing Justice framework, reflects on how care can resist systems of harm while centering collective survival. From political prisoners to neighbors, she calls us to reimagine care that is always liberatory and that values autonomy, mutual accountability, and the conditions we’re surviving. Watch the full video from our original “Healing Justice is Abolitionist & Anti-Capitalist” to get the full breakdown of the radical origins of healing justice, its limitations, and how we can hold care. 💫 DISRUPTING THE MEDICAL INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX AND CRIMINALIZATION WITH DR. JENNIFER MULLAN On Aug 22, NQTTCN’s Erica Woodland chatted it up with Dr. Jennifer Mullan aka @decolonizingtherapy aka Rage Doctor on our latest edition of our How We Get Free series. They explored ways the field of the mental health industrial complex is built upon the oppression of our people and the ways in which mental health practitioners must agitate on who they are ethical towards. They called for a critical shift in practitioners' allegiance—from ethics boards and institutions that uphold white supremacy –to ethics and relations rooted in self, community, and movements for liberation. 🎧 Tune in as they delve into the colonial roots of the mental health system, how we can reclaim ancestral knowledge, and the importance of collective care and humility in healing trauma. Dr. Mullan breaks down why it’s essential to disrupt the mental health field and work in community for true liberation. Link in bio to watch on youtube
