I've never been so psyched about a canceled flight. What a gift! 3 more days in ZA 🇿🇦 to explore some of Cape Town's finest. This boulder was at the top of my list after @mulletstyles showed it to me. With 20 minutes left before having to head to the airport I got to take one of the raddest and most picturesque swings I've ever taken 🤌

I blew off the lip of this boulder more times than I'd like to admit. It's been a dream line of mine for some time now. After some minor injuries and the African winter slowly turning to spring, I thought it was never going to happen. All it took is to keep showing up, throw all the tactics out the window, and to believe I could. This is definitely the hardest boulder I've done in a long time. Feels like I'm back! Damn I love this place 🇿🇦

@wattsup_co put up the more obvious and slightly less dynamic variation he dubbed Temu Hop 🦘 before we were even warmed up. @trainingtobecomeamonkey
& I had a blast trying the direct variation. Gave me a little taste of those days in Rocklands yeeting away with the boys 🫶🇿🇦
It ain't perfect, but it definitely will cause the corners of your mouth to get closer to your ears 😄
Im starting to wrap up some of the 2025 season videos. Many projects are still in motion, some haven’t been started yet, some are fully graded but need titles still… but I’m loving it and feeling kinda proud for continuing towards the vision 💡

Jumpin Jawnsons FA 🚀🚀
A quick trip to the Southeast yielded a good one. On my last day my brother brought me out to what he had dubbed the "Blue Hole Dyno Project." A cryptic move on a non-existent left hand and a poor foot. Probably took me a half dozen times just to pull on. Slowly chipped away at the movement, worked out the jump and my brother followed shortly after. Doing it from the start was a whole different beast. Took a load of psych and one lucky go to finish it off, still shocked I got it done 🍀
Pretty cool to be throwing down with the little brother still. Feels like it wasn't too long ago that we were a couple of punk teens trying to do our best Page & Bonham impersonations in our playroom with the volume cranked to eleven. The years have gone by, the interests have changed, but it's still the same ole shit 🍻
I think this one clocks in around V11, but it's the south so who knows? Need all them Chatty boys to come downgrade me pronto 🗿

My Yeet FA in Rocklands, “A Real Stand Up Guy” (V9… V10?)
@dynobryno and I made the walk out to Baboon Buttress to try @mattiasbmclimbs ‘s “Baboon to the Moon” (V12).
If you’ve seen a video of me getting yeeted off a dyno and taking a sapling to the anus at Mach 5, you know this climb 😂
While warming up, I was watching @mulletstyles and some friends crush Swingdom (V10, another Mattias gem) and decided to scout the cool slots between the massive boulders.
I was SO PSYCHED to find an undone line that started on a perfect block at knee level that you could squat on just like a classic indoor comp-start on a volume!
Aaaand just as fate would have it for a Yeet enthusiast like myself, there were no usable holds between the start and the sloped edge at the lip!
I spent about 10 minutes cleaning it up and then made my hardest Flash FA to date and one of my favorite dyno FAs as well!
If you’re ever in Rocklands and want to jump, check out this area, it has some very unique and high quality lines and still holds a great deal of potential for more.
We were unsure on the grade as well. I had flashed a few V10 dynos this trip and so did the 2 other people that tried it, but they took a few tries to send this one. Yet, we all felt that somehow it was easier?
It begs the question; do “attempts to top” OR opinion on the experience carry more weight when determining a grade proposal of a boulder, when comparing it against another climb of the same style and similar difficulty?
We couldn’t quite figure it out, but I would love to hear more opinions on your philosophy!

I punted on this one quite badly in the Spring, like on the V3 outro badly. Feels like I have a habit of doing that...
6 months later here I am. During those 6 months I thought about this climb a lot, probably even talked to some of you about it. As hard as it is to leave something behind, that fire it lights under you can motivate you to get better and I think that may have been what happened here 🔥

And @griffin_thoms for sessioning with me in the Spring. Was sick to watch him put it down in pretty suboptimal conditions
Now I get to think about the others I left undone. Hopefully I can share those sessions with more good friends, y'all the real MVPs 🫶

Woke up in the Icicle, soaking wet. Drove 2 hours east in search of dry rock. Rained most of the drive. Found dry rock. Started warming up as it started raining. Built an A frame with the blub. Hucked my meat. Elevated 🚀
Missing the days with the boys romping around the African landscape taking massive swings on stunning blocs. This one will have to hold me over, for now...

Leavenworth is a beautiful place. So happy to be able to come back after many years. Surprising myself by sending some things that once felt impossible ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
