This was my first time shooting with @dylanstiggers in 2024 and I remember I had just finished watching La Haine and was super inspired by the cinematography and the frames that movie has.
Ironically enough, this was one of Dylan’s favorite movies so it was a shoot that we both got excited to do and recreate the look and feel of La Haine
Decided to shoot this on Tri-X 400 and I’m so glad that I did. These are my favorite from this B&W roll

One of my favorite ways of approaching portraits of people is simply connecting with the person I’m taking photos of on a personal level.
It’s never about the performance for me or trying to make a big production out of a shoot, but simply the human connection that I get to have with people i encounter with.
I’ve gotten the privilege of calling Dylan a brother now and it was so cool to catch up and lean into the things and challenges that we were going through in life through these photos and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better result.
Super proud of this set, especially since this was my first time using the Contax G2, so huge shoutout to my boy @willdegraw for letting me test it for this session. Will definitely be getting one soon haha
Enjoy :)
