Domenica & Todd
they reached out wanting photographs made, but more than that, they were looking for someone who would step into their world, not stand outside of it. someone who would revere their day, move with intention, and not treat it like a list to be checked off from a wedding before theirs. something personal. something entirely their own.
they built something intentionally small. just family, just close friends. everyone under one roof, gathered in the same kitchen, the same living room, sharing space in a way that felt rare & honest.
the morning set the tone. an early walk, quiet, unforced, just the two of them moving through the day before it fully arrived. no performance, no pressure. just presence.
and from there, everything unfolded slowly. time with family, with people who know them deeply, with a kind of care that cannot be manufactured.
to be invited that close is not normal. it is entrusted. it is something i feel the weight of in the best way.
i am grateful for it. i do not take it lightly.
the Maples
some nights feel like a threshold.
NYE has always felt that way to me.
not just celebration, but reflection.
a quiet moment to look back honestly and step forward on purpose.
and to choose someone right in the middle of it.
i will keep saying it
NYE weddings are my favorite.
they carry a weight that does not need to be manufactured.
i would photograph one every year if i could.
(truly, still waiting on this year’s btw)
but what made this day what it was had little to do with the date alone.
it was the way Bella & Jack live.
they care deeply. they notice people. they make space for others.
nothing felt performative. everything felt sincere.
there was joy, yes.
but there was also reverence.
a quiet honoring woven through the entire day.
midnight came like it always does
but it did not feel like an ending.
it felt like a beginning they had already chosen.

there are days that feel like they were written long before anyone arrived.
the kind where the air hangs a little softer,
where time seems to loosen its grip,
where every glance carries more weight than it should be able to.
this was one of those days.
nothing asked to be forced.
nothing needed to be arranged into meaning.
it simply revealed itself,
slowly, honestly,
like summer does when you let it.
you could feel it in the way hands were held without thinking,
in the quiet understanding between families,
in the kind of joy that does not perform,
it just exists.
and maybe that is what stays with you.
not the schedule.
not the details.
but the sense that something real took place,
something steady,
something chosen,
something that will outlast the season it began in.
some weddings feel like a celebration.
some feel like a beginning you can almost hear.
some are both.
and i am grateful to have been invited into it.
thank you to @darcerossphoto for trusting me to stand alongside his couple and serve them well.

Campbell & Charles
not everything needs color to be felt. also, i have never had an all b&w post.
some things are better understood in contrast.
light and shadow.
joy and weight.
expectation and surrender.
a wedding day does not ask for perfection.
it asks for presence.
for the willingness to stand inside a moment and accept it as it is
not as it was planned,
not as it could have been,
but as it arrives.
this day gave us all of it.
sun, then rain.
order, then loosened timelines.
a quiet reminder that marriage does not begin with control,
but with consent.
and when the rain came, it did not take anything away.
it revealed something deeper.
during dinner, when the plan could have easily been abandoned,
Campbell looked at me and was more than game to grab Charles’ hand and head into the rain with her new hubby!
that moment said everything.
not about photos.
about choosing joy.
about choosing each other.
about stepping into the elements and calling it part of the story.
because love that endures the unexpected
is not fragile.
it is rooted.
it is practiced.
it is chosen.
this is how a story becomes honest.
this is how a marriage begins.
and this was only the beginning.

Rae-Leigh & Benji
a day at @windemerefarmweddings full of anticipation, joy, and the kind of moments that remind you what all of this is really about. the main thing was the main thing. two people entering into marriage, surrounded by people who love them deeply.
early October in Texas showed up in full. the light, the colors, the air, it all felt like it was in step with the day. every detail mattered because it meant something. every interaction carried weight. it was one of those days that just felt right from beginning to end.
i had the honor of photographing this one alongside Robyn, who was capturing Super 8. she is one of the most gifted people i have met in this industry, but more than that, she is someone i owe a great deal to.
when i moved to Texas, i did not know a single person. no footing, no connections, just a belief that it would work. Robyn gave me encouragement i had not yet earned. she gave me opportunities to prove myself. she trusted me with her couples, their families, and the responsibility that comes with documenting a wedding day.
that is not something i take lightly, and it is not something i will forget.
grateful for this day. grateful for Rae Leigh & Benji. grateful for the people who make this work possible. more from this one soon.

Charlotte & Luis
these two reminded me of something simple and weighty all at once.
weddings are beautiful, yes. they are joyful and loud and emotional and full of movement, but the reason we all gather is not for the party. it is not for the aesthetic. it is not for the next post or the next story. we gather because two people have made a covenant and invited us to witness it.
there is something deeply refreshing about a room full of guests who understand that. people who show up not to be entertained, but to be present. to pray over. to encourage. to stand as living witnesses to a promise that is meant to last a lifetime. when Charlotte & Luis looked out at their people, they were looking at those they deemed important enough to share that sacred moment. that is no small thing.
an invitation to a wedding is not casual. it is a nod of trust. a quiet acknowledgment that you matter in the story of their lives. the least we can do is treat it that way.
let us keep the main thing the main thing. the marriage. the promise. the lifelong pursuit of faithfulness.
everything else is just the celebration around it.

some Saturdays are for errands. this one was for driving three hours south with a camera in the passenger seat and no real agenda except to hang out and see what the day gave us. we chased that Austin light like tourists, squeezed into the park that felt like it was holding half the city, and watched the sun drop in front of the skyline with everyone else who had the same idea.
we walked the bridge; not for bats. we laughed and kept walking anyway, drifting into downtown, letting neon from South Congress spill across the sidewalk while we talked about July and everything ahead. dinner turned into lingering. lingering turned into heading back to their place, where the night slowed down, got quiet, and felt honest and cozy in that way that only real life does.
i pulled back into Dallas at 3AM, exhausted in the best way and even more excited for their summer wedding. July is going to be incredible.
and Elise & Jack, i do not forget this either. because i got to serve you, i met these two. that thread matters more than you know.
this work is wild. sometimes it looks like a packed dance floor. sometimes it looks like a Saturday in Austin that turns into something you carry home with you.

another year i did not schedule but was graciously allowed to keep.
for a long time, having a Valentine’s Day birthday meant it got overlooked. everyone was busy celebrating love, and mine quietly slipped by. over time i realized the day was never competing with mine. it was teaching me to pay attention to what actually lasts.
i am thankful for work that gives my days direction, for friendships that steady me, and for the strange privilege of getting older at all.
so this year i am not trying to chase anything dramatic. just to notice more. to laugh quicker. to show up well. to make photographs worth holding onto long after i am gone.
if time is a gift, then using it carefully is gratitude.
here’s to another year; received, not assumed.

The Maples
Bella & Jack were married on NYE, which i will forever maintain is one of the most meaningful days to promise your life to someone. there is celebration in it, yes, but also reflection, gratitude, and hope. a night that asks you to look back honestly and step forward intentionally. it felt fitting for them.
from the moment they booked, they invited me into their world. not just to photograph it, but to know it. they took me through Kansas City, to the places that raised them and shaped their story. the photos were secondary that night. the people always came first. hospitality is their heartbeat. they see people. they serve people. they love without show.
that care was woven into every part of their wedding weekend. it was not about spectacle, but about honoring family, celebrating friends, and creating space for others. Bella planned with tenderness and intention, including a deeply moving honoring of her late sister, which was an absolute privilege to witness.
you understand them even more once you meet their parents. Bella’s warmth is learned. Jack’s joy is unmistakable. full of life, full of laughter, fully present.
this night honored where they come from and who they love. they rang in a new year together, but more importantly, they began a lifetime marked by generosity and gratitude.

when it comes to truly gentle love, Alexis & Kushal embody it.
from our very first consult across three places at once Alexis in Houston, Kushal across the country in residency, and me in Dallas it was already clear that distance had not thinned their connection. if anything, it sharpened it. rheir encouragement of one another, their shared excitement, and that sweet impatience for the life they were building felt unmistakable even through a screen.
their wedding weekend unfolded across two days and carried so much meaning. cultures honored. families celebrated. gratitude extended generously in every direction. it was not just a wedding. it was a gathering rooted in respect, joy, and genuine care for the people who shaped them.
Kushal’s tenderness + selflessness toward Alexis is something rare & steady. the kind that speaks quietly but leaves no doubt. it is easy to see how that heart will serve him well as a doctor and as a husband. Alexis radiates warmth. she leads with kindness, encouragement, and openness, and from the very first phone call she made me feel welcome and trusted. also yes, we bonded over the same anime, which still makes me smile.
i am deeply grateful to have witnessed their story up close. to photograph a love this thoughtful, this grounded, and this sincere is a gift. and to work alongside a vendor team who showed both artistry and leadership all weekend long made it even more meaningful. i never take that kind of collaboration lightly.
Alexis & Kushal, thank you for letting me be part of something so full of heart.
