Last night I attended a screening of Resurrection, a powerful documentary about the life of @guyfelicellapublic . Guy’s journey from decades of addiction and homelessness to recovery and advocacy is extraordinary. What stayed with me most is the hope his story creates. It is a reminder that even in the darkest circumstances, recovery is possible and lives can be rebuilt. I was honoured to join a panel discussion after the film. Thank you, Guy and Brianne, for sharing your story so openly and for giving so many people hope. #listen #hope @vicpdcanada @dylan_wolfe @arkaviscreative

@dylan_wolfe sat down with old friend and @beforeiwas1 creator Isaac Shah to discuss Isaac’s spiritual journey to the teachings of Islam. Isaac explains why he gave up making and listening to music in order to be true to his faith. Among other things, Dylan and Isaac discuss the utility of religion in today’s modern age, navigating the extremist side of religious ideology, and personal sacrifice. I had the pleasure of chatting with @kontar_81 a while back. Also known as “The Man at the Airport,” Hassan was a former Syrian refugee whose story garnered worldwide attention when he was left stateless, and stranded at a Malaysian airport for 8 months after exiling from his home country of Syria in 2011. His book, “Man at the Airport,” (link in my bio) details his challenging journey from Syria to Canada. It’s a great read. His writing has a way of making you laugh and cry all in the span of one page. Hassan has a fascinating story - one that gives some insight into what it’s like to risk everything you have for a shot at a life with more opportunity. “These people did nothing wrong except be born on the wrong side of the world.” Hassan Al Kontar was a former Syrian refugee who had exiled from his home country after refusing to join the military in 2011. He made international headlines in 2018 after chronicling his experience being stuck in Kuala Lumpur International airport for seven months after his passport was revoked and he was left stateless. Also known as “The Man at the Airport” - of which his self-written book is titled - @dylan_wolfe sat down with Hassan to discuss his life, his journey as a refugee, and his experience being stranded at the airport and his subsequent time in jail. They also discuss the current state of global immigration and some of the prevailing cultural attitudes towards refugees in general. Had the pleasure of chatting with @guyfelicellapublic recently. He spent nearly 20 years living on the streets of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside before - against all odds - going through recovery, getting off the street, and building a life for himself and his family. Truly an incredible story - watch or listen, link in bio for the full podcast. Thanks for sharing, Guy. #yvr #vancouver #addictionrecovery

My chat with Vancouver-based artist @teongibbs100 is now available to stream via @ethno.official on YouTube, Apple, and Spotify. Link in bio. We discuss hip-hop in Canada, the viability of building a music career in Vancouver, using social media to grow a brand, the music scene in YVR, among other topics. Be sure to check out his tunes on Spotify/Apple Music, etc. He’s got a diverse collection of music for all moments. “Music to live to,” as he says. Thanks again for taking the time Teon. #yvrmusic #vancouvermusic #vancouverpodcast #podcast #hiphop #rnb #vancouverartist #yvr #vancouver
