Announcing this morning that I have been selected as an artist in residence for the 2026-2027 season at @maboumines , an historic presenter of experimental works and vital community for artists in the East Village since 1970.
Mabou Mines was Co-founded by JoAnne Akalaitis, Lee Breuer, Philip Glass, Ruth Maleczech, and David Warrilow.
Overwhelming gratitude for this incredible opportunity to develop a new work over the course of the next year and present it in a run of three shows in May 2027. Already vibing with damayantiwallace and @maxystarr and the unbelievable support of the Mabou Mines staff.
I’ll be sharing more about the process going forward and the piece I’ll be working on but still processing The Reality Of This.
Thank you to artistic directors @carlhancockrux@mallorycatlett and Karen Kandel for your trust, support, and inspiring words.
And Thank You to everyone My Life Who has Supported my work and encouraged me to move across mediums of expression. The creation of sound, image, object, words all comes from the same place and is a full expression of the artist and the collective out of which it arises.

Moving portrait to some audio from my new tape ‘Silence is a Sharpened Blade’ out on Dinzu Artefacts

Fun fact — much of the material on ‘silence is a sharpened blade’ (out now on @dinzuartefacts ) was originally composed for a live performance installation with movement artist Yoko Murakami at Mabou Mines.
This video pulls from the original 3-channel installation I created for the performance folded into a single frame.
The piece is “Blues for Bill Orcutt”
If this resonates, grab the limited edition set of 5 (with genius homies Laura Cocks, Camilo Angeles, Lester St. Louis, and Carlo Costa) on the Dinzu Bandcamp before they disappear—link in bio

Silence is a Sharpened Blade — out now on Dinzu Artefacts @dinzuartefacts
limited edition cassette bundle with solo works by Laura Cocks, Camilo Angeles, Lester St. Louis, and Carlo Costa
Silence is a Sharpened Blade speaks in the language of materiality — a stripped bare mantra of nylon and wood conjures unspoken and veiled interiors, channeling the intimacy of a single guitar alone in a room. Silence is a mirror, a shadow, an absence. It speaks when words fail in the poetry of negative numbers. Where do we go when the lights burn out? What is beauty in hell? What can pierce a heart of stone? Silence is a teacher, a doorway, a paradox. Silence is a sharpened blade.

Dormír, Enlances at ISSUE Project room about a year ago with Drew Wesely, Isa Crespo Pardo, and Daniel Prim providing the live score to images by Costa Rican photographer @emilianozunigah@drwesely@oh.iiisa@danielprim
curated by @knthjimenez
Dormír, Enlances is a meditation on dream logic and its relationship to sound. “When we go to sleep every night, we just surrender, not knowing if we will wake up again. We give up individuality to enter a realm where we stop existing to our chosen character. Suddenly, there’s a dissolution of a continued narrative, and we become plural. With our eyes closed, we look private, or so it seems from the outside, but we are dreaming; we are actually accessing a common ground, a space where we are all innocent and potential. We return home.”
Special thanks to Kenneth Jimenez, Sylver Wallace, Zev Greenfield, and Jackson Kovalchik for making this a reality.
