Our intention was to create a film highlighting the energy of the curandera within each of us, guided by our own Luz Duque. Yet because of her family tragedy, she could not be there. And yet we continued. With prayer, hope, release, & powerful forces of creation. Now Luz joins us for a day of prayer through the drum & sacred ritual like nothing else before. God made my garden perfect and whole, and though I open my eyes to expanse of much unknown, I have to trust in that. What do you do when the future seems so open you hardly see horizon? You fall. MOROCCO 2026 🇲🇦 a miracle in the making Last year my friend @gordondanielsmusic told me about a sacred music tour he went on. He knows me and what I do and said “you have to go.” What he didn’t know is that I hadn’t flown on a plane in about 7 years. The last time I flew was to go to a series of ceremonies in the middle of California to heal from autoimmune disease. On the plane ride home from Cali, the pre-existing hyper sensitivity in my body opened me to extreme physical pressure in my body that rippled terror through me and had me begging the crew to land the plane so I wouldn’t die. Although I was technically fine to fly a few years ago, I didn’t really know. So I took a test flight. As we went up in the air, I spoke calmly, then cried, then tapped into how every single person on the plane was there for me, just as I was for them. I subsequently felt a violent rush of adrenaline move through my body. My friend felt it too. And then it was okay. I was in the air. And it was a miracle. And 1 hour after landing, I booked this trip to Morocco with @lilatheseries in a state of complete shock. I didn’t know the itinerary, what Gnawa music was, or anything about the trip leaders. With all my internal passion, chaos, social anxiety, and soul knowing, I went. And here it is friends — the beginning of it all starting in North Africa, a place a piece of my soul rests in as home. Rhythm enters our bodies and souls in good time (y’ know?). Thank God for that.
