Two weeks in Cuba listening to the pulse of its music with @lilatheseries
Running around with a filmmaker from Egypt telling the stories of Afro-Cuban music and spirituality, lost in the streets of La Habana riding taxi carts and eating ropa vieja, smoking cigars and being hypnotized by the waves crashing along the Malecón.
Here's a recap of some of what we witnessed along with a group of travelers immersed in the culture of Cuba. Endless gratitude to be amongst fellow seekers and adventurers in pursuit of knowledge and wisdom. Our efforts now transition to the editing process for a documentary on these Cuban traditions. To be continued... ā¤ļø
La Habana, Cuba on #35mm šØšŗ
My time within the streets of La Habana replays in my mind like a memory I can dance with.
I hear the sounds of salsa and reparto blaring from around every corner, the children playing handball, the taxi carts whistling by.
I see smiles filled with so much soul they make the ice in my heart melt away.
Something inside of me stirred awake in Cuba. Iām the first in my family to return to the island since my grandfather left in the 60s, and after a couple of days I started to feel that warm familiarity from a place that feels like home. So many conversations and warm welcomes into someoneās home would pull me further into the beauty of this country.
These shots are from La Habana Vieja, the historic district where my trip was focused. Some depict a current state of Cuba that is at times bleak ~ power outages, urban decay, and food shortages are the unfortunate reality that many Cubans face right now.
Despite this, the energy in this city was undeniably alive and filled with magic.
A piece of my heart remains there, inspired by the warmth and resilience of the Cuban people until, god willing, I have the chance to be back once again. šØšŗā„ļø

One of my favorite things about visiting New York growing up was the awe I felt inside Grand Central.
It all moved so fast. The trains, the people coming from far and wide, the anticipation of walking outside and being swallowed by the city.
There's a magic here that flows through this stone labyrinth. What countless stories are contained within these walls, I thought?
Here's a preview of my painstaking exploration, frame by frame, as I allow myself to yet again be captivated by it all.
A trip to the motherland ~
My first encounter with Africa. Wow, a thing of dreams! I was drawn in immediately. Was it a magnetism in the air? The warm, kind and generous welcome? I couldnāt tell.
It kept sweeping me off my feet. The chaos of Nairobi - a mix of city and nature like I had never seen. The scent of earth. The embrace of a dry, ancient heat.
Kenyan hospitality revealed to me a new level of kindness. I canāt express how lovely everyone was! Billboards and signs spreading messages of faith could be seen everywhere. A land where God isnāt dead? I fell lost in thought.
Slowly my heart began to open. And there I was! Remembering. Healing. Reading from old pages of the big book.
Until we meet again. ā¤ļø
BERLIN
Scenes from my trip to Germany last month in a city that took me by surprise.
Down every street and behind every door lied mysteries waiting to be discovered. A city for the curious, its richness not on the surface but in its depth.
The city felt old, complex, and nuanced by a deep history. For five days I took in all of its artistry and listened to its music.
Thereās much to know, and I look forward to my next visit where I hope to dive deeper into Berlin. For now, please enjoy these perspectives š„
As we enter the Winter season I reflect on warmer days at @elementsfestival š„
Same-day edits delivered each night after braving the elements - rain, mud, heat, cold - and pushing through discomfort. Here are the results of what was a beautiful weekend with the @humanbeingmedia & @tickingclockproductions team.
Iām looking forward to the return of festival season, but not before the lessons of winter have their time. Until next year š«¶
It was an absolute pleasure to capture the last @dance.beyond x @ecstaticdancenyc ceremony featuring @mosemusica āØ
What a captivating setting it was - the historic @judsonchurchnyc - and profound evening of ritual and dance.
Iām excited to be back with the community tonight at Judson for an encounter with @snowravenofficial . š¦āā¬š„
