Sebcat from @rebelup_ and @drouid_ met for a sound exploring ceremony — weaving together their global, dub-infused sonic worlds into a drifting, space-bound journey. A session shaped in the moment, where vinyl and digital sources intertwined — textures, voices and rhythms dissolving into each other, bending the tracks into new forms. These are fragments from our gathering at @kiosk.radio on May 6th. Grateful to the artists whose sounds carried us, and to the @kiosk.radio team for holding space and highlighting the set among their favorites of the week. This Wednesday 6 May at 16h, it's our Rebel Up & Friends monthly residence session at @kiosk.radio SebCat will play a B2B with special guest DROUÏD @drouid_ from Liège for a session of ambient deep listening, minimal ritual rhythms up to outernational bass and more. Drouïd is a radio-based sound project exploring trance, storytelling, and attentive listening. Launched in 2023 on 48FM radio @48fm.radio in Liège, it began as a series of eclectic DJ sets and gradually evolved into a more immersive format, integrating spoken word, poetry, and collaborations with artists from different disciplines. Each session unfolds as a sonic journey, moving from ambient textures to more rhythmic structures, creating a space between introspection and collective experience. Drouïd investigates how radio can become a space for narrative and perception, combining electronic music, field recordings, and transformed voice. The project focuses on slower temporalities and deep listening, inviting the audience into a more sensitive and imaginative relationship to sound. Balancing musical curation and performative presence, Drouïd develops a singular approach to broadcasting — somewhere between DJ set, poetic transmission, and sound ritual. There’s been some months now since I first wanted to organise a DROUÏD event. I am truly grateful for my friend @rafaelaragondj and his experience with @womb_ambient for his advices presence and support. Thanks to @monstera_occulta whose opening set was amazing. And of course @da.iguana with whom I shared decks and improvised along with my dear Curandera Barbara. Thanks for the magic, the softness and authenticity. We left a bit of our dimanche Onirique in la @casanicaragua ‘s bathroom thanks to @assemblav collage workshop ! 👀👀 Thanks to you the dreamers, the brave soul who choses softness. Like a fairy coming from the west, @frsw_franz joined the ritual. What a pleasure to see them step in our magical realm. Drouïd is a place where the spirits merges with the living, and so they wondered with their enchanted voice. A pagan litany, joined with their Harp, shivering sounds and birds tweeting. But where are those words coming from? Do they even make sense ? What are the paths that our thoughts takes. Subconscious words is an universal language that can tell more about one’s soul to someone else’s. We all experienced changes, mourning and grief, this ceremony might just be one of those synchronized encounters on your path that helps bury the past and welcome this new phase of your life. As we just stepped from the Snake Era into the riding burning Horse. We will go forward, it’s hard, but we will.
