Drive Studios is thrilled to share our latest work in the virtual production space with CRUEL; a music video for
@jacksonwang852g7 , directed by our very own
@hypothetical_monkey .
It’s been a journey to reach this exciting moment and the BTS content here shows some of what the process entailed.
Over the past few months we joined forces with a curated team of forward-thinking individuals - each with a single goal in mind: to create something incredible.
It began with the desire to build a volume that would overcome many of the shortcomings currently in the marketplace, allowing more freedom for creatives in their camera work, sound recording, workflow, and flexibility in production.
To start we constructed a 52 x 32 foot Pangaea +2.3 LED tile virtual production volume spearheaded by
@probstdp and
@thegeoffknight .
@vfxtech offered their extensive knowledge, hardware and workstations to optimize our workflow through redundancy and horsepower.
@opticskypro brought in a team of Unreal Engine professionals, who gave guidance and spent weeks tediously developing and engineering the systems and workflow critical to successful productions.
Within a month we had a fully operational virtual production cove, engineered for premier sound and vision. One of the first to stand flush with the ground and boast a nearly invisible seam where the walls met the ceiling.
We were lucky enough to find a partner in
@jacksonwang852g7 and
@teamwang who understood the immense potential of this tech and shared the incredible vision for this amazing video concept with Rich Lee.
Drive Studios was able to conjure up the apocalyptic awesomeness in post that fuels the world CRUEL lives in. All amounting in a futuristic and unforgettable experience.
