HUGE PIECE IN THE TIMES TODAY!
I am delighted to see the @thetimes cover my thoughts on health in such a big way today.
We are an over-medicated country. 80-90% of what doctors see each day is in some way related to our collective modern lifestyles - yet, most of the options you get given by your doctor relate to pharmaceutical medication.
WE WILL NOT OUT-PRESCRIBE OUR WAY OUT OF THE CURRENT HEALTHCARE CRISIS - THERE HAS TO BE (AND THERE IS!!) ANOTHER WAY.
The number of prescriptions that we give out as doctors has increased by over 80 per cent in the last 20 years. And the uncomfortable truth is that a lot of the pills are simply not working.
This Thursday on @channel4 at 8pm my new 1 hour prime time documentary ‘Live Well With The Drug Free Doctor’ comes out. It is a deep dive into the healthcare crisis and I show how in 3 different conditions, type 2 diabetes, chronic pain & depression, it is possibly to completely heal without the use of medication.
Our lifestyles can be our very best medicine. That is what my entire public facing career is all about and I cannot wait for the British public to watch the Channel 4 show this Thursday evening at 8pm.
Let me know your thoughts below and if you plan on watching this Thursday, drop me a ❤️ below!
❤️ A SPECIAL MOMENT
My mum is an absolute legend and it’s always a special moment to show her a finished copy of one of my books - this time, the new version of ‘Happy Mind, Happy Life’.
My dad died in 2013 so never got to see a single one of my books. And, there have been times over the past few years when I didn’t think she’d be around to see the publication of any more.
It really is a special moment to show your parents something that you have worked on for so long - especially, when they have been such a positive influence on your life. Mum (and Dad) have brought me up really well and have always taught me and showed me the importance of treating every single person with kindness and respect - and this, in turn, is something I try my best to teach my own kids.
One thing I always appreciate about my mum is how honest and direct she is with me - she never sugarcoats what she thinks and I wouldn’t want it any other way!!
Just a few days now until this version of the book is on the shelves - if you’re planning on buying it for yourself or someone in your life, let me know below!
“If I were to choose to live my life over again, I wouldn’t live it in this way.” Dr. Gabor Maté
Many of us spend so long searching for validation from others, that we can forget to enjoy the simple (and hugely important!) pleasures in life.
In this week’s INCREDIBLE podcast episode with @gabormatemd , he reflects on the perils of sacrificing these precious moments - and encourages all of us to think about how we can build more time for playfulness and joy into our lives while we can.
Are you always seeking validation? Leave a ❤️ if this resonated with you👇🏾
This is a SHORT clip from a longer conversation on this week’s ‘Feel Better Live More’ podcast with Gabor Maté. Head to Episode 440 to listen to the FULL episode and put this clip in context. You can find it by tapping on the link in my @drchatterjee bio or wherever you enjoy your podcasts.

Have you ever said “I’m fine” when you weren’t?
Or pushed through when your body was asking you to stop?
Most of us have.
And according to renowned psychologist and performance coach Pippa Grange, those small moments of self-betrayal may be costing us more than we realise.
In this week’s new episode of my Feel Better, Live More podcast, Pippa and I explore the hidden cost of chronic overperformance and why burnout is becoming such a modern epidemic.
One of the most powerful ideas in this conversation is this: every time we mask, withhold or override what’s really going on, it creates a small ripple of inauthenticity. And over time, those ripples can quietly drain our energy.
Whether you’re already feeling burnt out, or simply want to protect yourself from getting there, I think this is an important conversation.
Episode 656 of Feel Better, Live More with @pippagrange is out now.🎧
“The most valuable thing in today’s society isn’t gold or money. It’s human attention” - @andersehansen
And some of the world’s most powerful companies have become extraordinarily good at capturing it.
But it’s not just what we do online that concerns Anders, it’s what we stop doing when we’re online for so long.
We move less, sleep less, and spend less time with each other in real life. And those are precisely the things that protect us against depression.
Got 20 minutes this weekend? In today’s new BITESIZE episode of my ‘Feel Better, Live More’ podcast, @andersehansen and I discuss ways we can begin to take back control and reconnect with what really matters
Ever snapped at someone but known it had nothing to do with them?
In this week’s NEW episode of my ‘Feel Better, Live More’ podcast, Dr @pippagrange and I get into something I think will resonate with so many people who feel like they’re holding it together, but only just.
Having seen burnout in many patients over the years, I know it’s one of those things that’s hard to comprehend until you’re in the midst of it. But in our conversation, Pippa shares how you can spot the signs before it’s too late.
If you’ve already tuned into this one, I’d love to hear your thoughts!👇🏾
When did you last stop and ask yourself: which area of my health actually needs attention right now?
@drchatterjee has spent decades helping people answer that question. And in this conversation with our CEO @katcoleatl , he shares the framework he keeps coming back to, the Four Pillars of Health: nutrition, movement, sleep, and relaxation.
His advice? Don't try to overhaul everything at once. Figure out which pillar you're neglecting most and start there.
Exams coming up? Here are 3 simple tips I think can really help.
My son is about to start his GCSEs, and I know many of you have children or grandchildren navigating exam season right now.
At times like this, it’s easy to focus only on revision. But I honestly believe one of the best things we can do as caregivers is help create the foundations that support good study: sleep, nourishing food, movement and calm.
And if they want you to test them? Don’t stay stuck at the kitchen table. Take those flashcards out for a walk. A change of scene and a bit of movement can make learning stick far better than sitting still.
These are the three things I’d be encouraging any young person to focus on right now.

When did you last stop and ask yourself how you’re really doing?
In today’s episode I’m joined by psychologist and performance coach Dr @pippagrange , who has spent 25 years working with some of the world’s highest performers. Her message is one I think all of us need to hear right now:
👉🏾Burnout isn’t a sign that something is broken in you. It’s a sign that something needs to change.
In this episode, you’ll discover:
- How to spot the signs that you’re over performing
- Why burnout doesn’t mean you’ve failed
- A nature-inspired framework that will help you regenerate
- Why small, daily dishonesties drain your energy
- What coming home means and how to do it
Pippa’s wisdom today is for all of us – particularly anyone who feels like they’re running on empty, or that the way they’re living isn’t working for them anymore
If you tune in, I’d love to know what you take away from our conversation ❤️
Are you feeling burnt out or know someone who is? This might be worth a listen ❤️
Burnout conversations often stop at the diagnosis but in this week’s new episode of my Feel Better, Live More podcast, renowned psychologist and performance coach @pippagrange offers something much rarer: a viable, practical alternative to giving up.
Having seen burnout in many patients over the years, I know it’s one of those things that’s hard to comprehend until you’re in the midst of it. But in our conversation, Pippa shares how you can spot the signs before it’s too late.
And that you CAN make meaningful change from within your life, rather than trying to escape it. And this conversation will show you how.

The words we use on a daily basis are either empowering us or holding us back. And the good news? With a little intention, they can be changed.
